Program Description
The JD Power™ EV Expert Certification course delivers the latest, actionable insights to improve EV sales and service through RockED’s mobile microlearning platform. This program develops dealership staff with the EV expertise customers are looking for through expertly designed curriculum and bite-sized video lessons. Users who complete the curriculum and pass a rigorous skills assessment will become certified as an EV Expert certified by JD Power for the current calendar year.

Who is eligible?
Employees of new franchised automotive dealers and tier 1 used vehicle dealers in the United States with an active RockED subscription that includes access to the JD Power EV Expert journey.
What are the criteria on which certification is based?
Expertly developed lessons regarding electric vehicle sales and service. Content is supplemented and updated on an annual basis to ensure recency with the dynamic EV marketplace. The curriculum provides a robust education in the following key concepts:
- EV & Charging Fundamentals
- EV Sales Process
- EV Service Process
- ICE vs. EV Features & Technology Comparison
What is required to become certified under the JD Power™ EV Expert Certification – Powered by RockED?
To become certified, individuals must do the following:
- Completion of all course curriculum (~90 video microlessons)
- Completion of a certification exam with a minimum passing score of 80%
- Certification is awarded upon passing of the final exam and acceptance of the End User License Agreement (EULA).
When is this conducted?
Eligible users may complete the course content and exam on a rolling basis throughout the year. The certification is valid until the last day of the current calendar year. For example – the certification of users who certify any time during the 2026 year will remain valid until December 31, 2026.
What is required for renewal?
Certification is renewable on an annual basis. Curriculum is updated yearly with the latest EV intelligence to evolve alongside the rapidly changing EV market. Upon completion of the new and updated content and passing the certification exam, returning dealership employees will renew their recognition and earn the current-year certification credential.
