Most 2025 Ford models receive changes, from minor updates to major redesigns. Surprisingly, two of the company’s best-selling models carry over without noteworthy modifications. At the same time, the iconic Ford Mustang simultaneously celebrates the past and makes history as it screams into the future.
Across the lineup, the automaker’s BlueCruise hands-free driving-assistance system adds new features, refines functionality, and revises activation and subscription plans. In addition, Ford has started rolling out its new Ford Digital Experience infotainment system and Ford Connectivity Package subscription. At the same time, other models upgrade to larger touchscreen displays boasting over-the-air (OTA) software update technology.
Lastly, the company begins offering new Ford Custom Garage accessory packages for its trucks and SUVs, allowing owners to customize how they look and work.

Changes to the 2025 Bronco are subtle but significant. Ford reshuffles the lineup, reviving the Base trim level, making the Black Diamond an option package for the Big Bend, and adding the new Stroppe Edition modeled on a legendary Baja 1000-winning Bronco from the 1960s.
In addition, a new Free Wheeling package gives the Bronco a distinct 1970s vibe, while a Black Appearance package with a black hardtop adds the predictable blacked-out look to Ford’s rugged off-roader. You can also get a factory-applied matte clear film upgrade for any of the SUV’s paint colors.
Choose the optional Sasquatch package and you’ll get new rugged-terrain tires instead of the previous mud-terrain rubber. Why? They’re quieter on the highway, which can help you better enjoy the improved 12-speaker B&O premium audio system from Bang & Olufsen.
Other changes include a standard 12-inch digital driver display from the Raptor variant, added sound insulation, more interior lighting, and air conditioning vents for the rear passengers in the Bronco four-door.
At its heart, the Bronco Sport is a small crossover SUV, but with boxy styling and some off-road upgrades, it is more capable than most of its rivals. For the 2025 model year, Ford takes that capability to the next level.
Continuing in Big Bend, Outer Banks, and Badlands trim levels, the Bronco Sport has two new option packages that improve its off-roading talents. The first one is the Black Diamond package for the Bronco Sport Big Bend, which adds steel underbody protection, four recovery points, and 2,200 pounds of maximum towing capacity.
The second one is the Sasquatch package, available with Outer Banks and Badlands trims. It is the most off-road-ready version in the lineup, equipped with 29-inch all-terrain tires, a twin-clutch all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, a locking rear differential, a reworked suspension with a slight increase in ride height and improved wheel articulation, and a split-view Trail View camera system. You can identify a Bronco Sport Sasquatch by its front brush guard, added recovery hooks, steel bumpers, steel bash guard, and steel skid plates.
Ford also enhances the 2025 Bronco Sport with modifications to accommodate accessories and active lifestyle use and offers the SUV with added off-roading technology such as a Rally G.O.A.T. mode, Trail Control off-road cruise control, and Trail 1-Pedal Drive for use at low speeds on rough terrain.
The Bronco Sport gets an infusion of technology, including a new 12.3-inch digital driver display and a 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Ford’s Sync 4 infotainment system equips the SUV with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and provides OTA software updates.
Ford has also made its Co-Pilot360+ collection of advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) standard on the 2025 Bronco Sport. Among other features, it includes a hands-on driving-assistance system pairing adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assistance.
Ford reportedly makes no significant changes to the 2025 Escape.
Ford has redesigned its full-size SUV for 2025. It continues in standard and extended Max body styles, and the lineup includes Active, King Ranch, Tremor, and Platinum trim levels. They all feature a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine.
The Expedition Tremor is new for 2025. It gets standard four-wheel drive, a high-output version of the twin-turbo V6, and numerous off-roading upgrades. The highlights include 33-inch all-terrain tires, an off-road-tuned suspension with 10.6 inches of ground clearance, skid plates, and a locking rear differential. Ford also outfits the Tremor with a Rock Crawl mode, Trail Turn Assist to help the SUV crab around tight turns in the trail, and Trail 1-Pedal Drive.
Practical improvements include a new split-design rear liftgate with a lower section that folds flat and can hold up to 500 pounds. Exterior zone lighting illuminates the area around the Expedition after dark, and new trailering technologies help owners leverage the SUV’s maximum tow rating of 9,600 pounds.
Inside, the 2025 Expedition features a 24-inch panoramic digital driver display and a smaller Ford Digital Experience touchscreen infotainment system on the dashboard's center.
That infotainment system debuted on the 2025 Explorer and features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Alexa Built-in, Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Play, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio, and 5G connectivity with an available Wi-Fi hotspot.
A Ford Connectivity package provides Wi-Fi and access to Google services. You can pay upfront for lifetime access or get a one-year free trial subscription renewable annually thereafter. Or bring your own entertainment and use the Digital Device Holders for the front seatbacks.
The latest version of Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free driving system is standard on all four trim levels. It includes lane-change assistance and an in-lane repositioning feature to give big trucks extra room. As with the Ford Connectivity package, you can pay for lifetime access when you take delivery of the Expedition or activate a one-year complimentary trial renewable annually. Ford also offers monthly service packages.
Ford gives the 2025 Explorer a mid-cycle refresh with new styling, redesigned wheels, and a new interior with improved materials and available ambient lighting. The lineup includes Active, ST-Line, ST, and Platinum trims, all powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder or a V6 engine.
The Explorer was the first of the company’s models to offer the new Ford Digital Experience infotainment system, here with a 13.2-inch touchscreen display. It pairs with a 12.3-inch digital driver display, substantially modernizing the Explorer’s interior.
Ford also offers its BlueCruise hands-free driving-assistance technology on all Explorers except the base Active trim.
Reportedly, there are no significant changes to the 2025 F-150 lineup.
As of this writing, Ford has yet to release official information for the 2025 F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck.
The F-Series Super Duty lineup receives a few changes two years after a 2023 redesign. The full-size heavy-duty pickup truck continues in various cab, cargo bed, rear axle, and powertrain configurations, with gasoline V8 engines standard and a Power Stroke turbo-diesel available. For the 2025 model year, Ford is offering new “trailer technology bundles” for the truck.
Avalanche and Ruby Red are new paint colors, and the Lariat trim now features Active X artificial leather. The Platinum trim has new black exterior detailing and a new Black Onyx and Platinum Blue interior color theme.
Even more luxury is available in the new Platinum Plus package. With satin finishes, added chrome, perforated premium leather with French stitching, and a new Smoked Truffle interior color, it’s plush. This upgrade also grants access to more personalization and customization options and exclusive ownership benefits. Go ahead. Call it the Lincoln of heavy-duty trucks.
At the opposite end of the Ford truck spectrum, the automaker restyles the small Maverick crew cab pickup. It features a new bumper, headlights, and grille, and a Black package debuts with black 19-inch wheels, black exterior details, and a black-painted roof. Interiors feature fresh colors and materials, and the Maverick Lariat adds a Smoked Truffle theme with bronze accents.
The 2025 Maverick continues in XL, XLT, Lariat, and Tremor trims with a hybrid powertrain or a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. For the first time, the Maverick Hybrid is available with AWD. When equipped with the 4K Tow package, it can handle double the standard towing capacity.
Other changes include a new Sync 4 infotainment system with a 13.2-inch touchscreen, an available surround-view camera with a split-view display, and trailering tech called Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist. The Maverick Tremor adds Ford’s Trail 1-Pedal Drive system.
Choose a Lariat or a Tremor and this bite-sized truck includes a hands-on driving-assistance system in the form of adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assistance.
Ford is celebrating the Mustang’s 60th anniversary with a limited-production variant restricted to 1,965 vehicles. But that’s not the big news for the company’s iconic pony car. The Mustang GTD is.
What is a Mustang GTD? Essentially, it is a race car for the street. It packs a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 cranking out 815 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. Ford says it can reach a top speed of 202 mph. Highlights include active aerodynamics with a rear wing Drag Reduction System, a semi-active rear suspension, carbon ceramic brakes, a titanium exhaust system, and much more.
Fun fact: With the new Mustang GTD, Ford lapped Germany’s fabled Nürburgring Nordschleife in under seven minutes, faster than any American-brand car in history.
Ford’s electric SUV, the Mustang Mach-E gets a few updates for 2025. In addition to a standard heat pump that pays dividends in the winter, fresh paint colors (Molten Magenta, Velocity Blue, Desert Sand) and wheel designs are available, and a new Sport Appearance package is an option with Premium trim.
Ford also upgrades the Mach-E’s BlueCruise hands-free driving system with a lane-change assistance function, and a Ford Connectivity package is available, providing access to 5G Wi-Fi, in-car entertainment apps, connected navigation with EV Trip planning, and more.
One year after a complete redesign, Ford makes few changes to the 2025 Ranger. Ruby Red, Desert Sand, and Marsh Gray are new paint colors, and a Black Appearance package is available with blacked-out trim details.
Ford’s full-size vans receive revised rear-hinged door operation for 2025. In addition, the cargo vans offer new factory-installed upfit packages aimed at customers in the package delivery, electrician, general contractor, and HVAC repair trades. Also, a new Wall Liner Kit debuts to finish the cargo area, add thermal insulation, and quiet the ride. The electric E-Transit’s charging cord is now optional rather than standard, but it has a new fast-charger adapter.
