Part of BMW’s Neue Klasse (new class) rollout of redesigned models, the 2027 BMW 3 Series is all-new and goes on sale in the first quarter of 2027. Slightly larger than the car it replaces, the eighth-generation 2027 3 Series is available in 330, 330 xDrive, and M350 xDrive model designations with base prices ranging from $51,250 to $67,250, including the destination charge. An electric model called the i3 is also available and is covered in a separate article.

While traditional BMW design cues such as the automaker’s twin-kidney grille, Hofmeister kink, and long hood/short deck proportions remain, the 2027 3 Series departs from those of its predecessors. It is thoroughly modern, even as it references the past.
Under the hood, the 330 features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, delivered to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 330 xDrive has the same setup, but with BMW’s all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The automaker quotes a zippy zero-to-60-mph acceleration time of 5.9 seconds for the 330 models.
If that is not quick enough for you, try the M350 xDrive. It has a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine, an eight-speed sport automatic transmission, and standard AWD. With 437 hp and 428 pound-feet of torque, it rockets to 60 mph in a BMW-claimed 3.9 seconds. Both engines use a 48-volt mild hybrid system.
BMW says it has improved the compact luxury sport sedan’s driving dynamics through specific chassis, suspension, steering, and brake system tuning to make the new 3 Series more enjoyable to drive in any situation. As expected, the M350 xDrive adds hardware and tuning tweaks to support its performance-oriented mission, including a Drift Moment feature that drivers can activate to switch the car into rear-wheel drive mode and slide it around corners and curves.

Inside, the new 2027 3 Series is more high-tech than ever, now showcasing a new BMW Panoramic Vision strip of configurable displays that runs the width of the dashboard directly below the base of the windshield. An asymmetrical 17.9-inch center touchscreen incorporates many of the car’s controls and runs on new BMW Operating System X software.
You can use wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto smartphone mirroring, or you can stick with the native technology, which offers a digital voice assistant featuring AI-powered Amazon Alexa, BMW Digital Premium access to in-car entertainment and gaming, and features and apps downloadable from the BMW ConnectedDrive Store. A Harman Kardon premium sound system with Dolby Atmos technology is available for the 330 models and standard on the M350.
The 2027 3 Series is available with Highway Assist hands-free driving technology, which works at speeds up to 85 mph. New BMW Symbiotic Drive technology governs the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The company’s goal with Symbiotic Drive is to make using ADAS feel more natural and less intrusive for drivers.

Production of the redesigned 2027 BMW 3 Series starts in November 2026 at the company’s Dingolfing, Germany, assembly plant. When the car goes on sale in the U.S. market in early 2027, it will face rivals including the Audi A5/S5, Genesis G70, Lexus IS, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
