The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport small SUV leans heavily into its off-road heritage, gaining enhanced four-wheeling capability, new technology features, and more customization options.

Ford offers the updated 2025 Bronco Sport in Big Bend, Outer Banks, Badlands, Heritage, and Free Wheeling trim levels. Outer Banks and Badlands trims are available with the new Sasquatch off-road package for the first time. Power for all 2025 Bronco Sport SUVs comes from a 1.5- or 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. An automatic transmission and four-wheel drive (4WD) are standard.

The smaller Ford Bronco Sport’s name is derivative of the legendary Bronco SUV, as is its styling. And for 2025, it looks even more like the original version of the storied Ford off-road SUV, thanks to new front and rear bumpers and a rectangular grille.
The bumpers, made of steel, are modular, making it easy for Bronco Sport buyers to accessorize and personalize their SUVs. Owners can add accessories using heritage-inspired Bronco Bolts. Ford also added extra steel underbody protection for 2025. Revised wheel designs round out the lineup’s standard exterior changes.
Available for the first time on the Bronco Sport, the Sasquatch off-road package includes a front brush guard, steel skid plates, integrated bumper tie-downs, and four recovery points on the bumpers (two tow hooks at the front, two D-rings at the rear).

Like the SUV’s exterior, the Bronco Sport’s interior also has a Bronco-inspired look and feel. Bronco Bolts, several of which appear in the Bronco Sport’s interior, aid owners’ abilities to customize their ride, including the newly available passenger grab handle that attaches to the center console and the new auxiliary switches included in the Sasquatch package.
Helpful for when the outside elements make their way in, the Bronco Sport’s interior features easy-to-clean cloth or leather seating surfaces, depending on the trim. A rubberized floor and cargo area are options.

One of two turbocharged four-cylinder engines powers every 2025 Ford Bronco Sport. Big Bend, Outer Banks, Heritage, and Free Wheeling trims come standard with a 180-horsepower 1.5-liter unit, while the Badlands features a 238-hp, 2.0-liter power plant. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard, as is 4WD.
Enhanced off-road capability is the big story for 2025. Previously available only on the larger Bronco, Ford now offers its specialized Sasquatch off-road package on the Bronco Sport. Available with either engine, the package includes a twin-clutch rear-drive unit, locking rear differential, and 17-inch wheels wrapped in 29-inch Goodyear Territory All Terrain tires. The tires feature an open-tread design and reinforced sidewalls, which help to provide better traction off-pavement.
Available on Bronco Sport Big Bend, the new Black Diamond Off-Road package stops short of installing the rear drive unit from the Sasquatch package but does include extra steel underbody protection, four recovery points, and up to 2,200 pounds of towing capacity. Bronco Sports with the 2.0-liter engine can tow up to 2,700 pounds.
Ford endows the Bronco Sport with what it cleverly calls G.O.A.T. (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) drive modes. Standard modes across the lineup include Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, and the new Off-Road mode. Additionally, Ford equips the top Badlands (and Badlands Sasquatch) trim with Rally mode—suitable for sandy terrain such as you might find in off-road rallying—and Rock Crawl mode.

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport features several new technologies, ranging from advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) to infotainment to off-road aids.
Every 2025 Bronco Sport comes standard with Co-Pilot360 Assist+, Ford’s suite of ADAS. The top Badlands trim upgrades to Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0, which adds reverse automatic braking, traffic-sign recognition, and a surround-view camera with a split view. The upgraded ADAS package is optional on the Outer Banks trim.
Regarding display screens, drivers face a standard reconfigurable 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that flashes unique animations when the drive mode changes. Located atop the center stack is a 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen Ford says is the largest in its class. The standard Sync 4 infotainment system features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and offers over-the-air software updates. Behind the infotainment touchscreen is a recessed device charging tray with two USB-C ports.
The 2025 Bronco Sport also leverages new technology to improve the off-road experience. Trail One-Pedal Drive allows the driver to control the Bronco Sport’s speed during rock-crawling maneuvers with just the gas pedal (lifting off the pedal altogether brings the SUV to a complete stop). Another off-road-oriented technology, Trail Control is essentially a low-speed, off-pavement version of cruise control. It's standard on Badlands trims and optional on all others.

Most small SUV segment entries focus on efficiency, value, and smart packaging. Ford takes a different approach with the Bronco Sport, going all-in on its off-road image and abilities. That is not to say that competitors such as the Jeep Compass and Subaru Crosstrek, for example, don’t offer anything for off-road enthusiasts. However, most of the top-sellers in the segment—Chevrolet Trailblazer, Honda HR-V, Hyundai Kona, Kia Seltos, Mazda CX-30, Toyota Corolla Cross, and Volkswagen Taos—play it straight.
