The all-new 2026 Audi A6 debuts as the ninth generation of the brand’s midsize luxury sedan, boasting enhanced power, refinement, and technology over its predecessor, along with a completely new exterior design, a quieter cabin, and a driver-oriented interior.
Audi has completely redesigned the A6 sedan, combining sharper styling with increased comfort, better performance, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). It is offered in three well-equipped trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. A sport rear differential and four-wheel steering, usually found in S variants, are now available as options.
Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD) and a revised turbocharged V6 engine producing more power and torque are standard. The sedan also gains customizable digital lighting, improved sound insulation, and a more refined cabin design. Pricing begins at $65,395, including the $1,295 destination charge, with availability expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Audi’s new A6 boasts a sleeker, more athletic design, characterized by flowing window lines and a wide stance. The signature Singleframe grille sits low and is framed by slim headlights and large air intakes. At the back, a continuous light strip highlights the width, complemented by vertical brake lights and rectangular exhaust tips.
Wheel sizes range from the standard 19-inch bicolor alloys to available 20- and 21-inch options, with the larger sizes included in the Sport Plus package. There are eleven exterior colors to choose from, including a new Midnight Green Metallic. To add a sportier look, the S line Black Optic package darkens trim pieces, Audi rings, and exterior accents. It also features 20-inch wheels.
Inside, Audi emphasizes a “human centric” design, adding a touch of refinement to its tech-rich interior. The cabin features the Audi Digital Stage, which combines a curved 11.9-inch virtual cockpit, a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, and an available 10.9-inch passenger display. The system uses OLED technology for crisp visuals and supports web surfing and streaming for passengers.
Prestige trims also include a configurable head-up display with interactive controls, allowing drivers to scroll and select functions without taking their eyes off the road. A new panoramic glass roof, featuring six liquid crystal segments known as the digital curtain, offers adjustable shading and an additional 2 inches of front headroom.
Audi features premium upholstery in the door panels and armrests, offering both standard leatherette and the available Dinamica micro-suede. Buyers can also opt for the Audi Exclusive Design package, which features leather surfaces finished in Neodymium gold and Baikal blue, accompanied by matching contrast stitching and piping.
Models with the Sport Plus package feature a new S-line perforated leather flat top and bottom steering wheel with S badging. They also come with stainless steel pedals and footrest, eight-way perforated leather front heated and ventilated sport seats, and an instrument panel finished with Dinamica micro-suede with contrast stitching.
Audi claims that the cabin is now 30 percent quieter than its eighth-generation models. Acoustic glazing and more tightly sealed windows work together to reduce noise, providing a quieter ride, according to the automaker. The updated engine and transmission mount bushings also help reduce powertrain vibrations and harmonics. Additionally, Audi optimized the shape of the transmission gear teeth to further reduce noise levels.
Practical touches include 13.5 cubic feet of cargo space, a wide 41.3-inch opening, and 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats.
The 2026 A6 delivers 27 additional horsepower and 37 more pound-feet of torque than the previous model. To accomplish this, Audi pairs its retuned turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with an Audi S tronic seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT), generating 362 hp and 406 pound-feet of torque. With standard quattro AWD and the power boost, the A6 now has an estimated zero-to-60-mph time of 4.5 seconds—six-tenths of a second quicker than before.
Audi offers three suspension setups to accommodate different driving styles. The standard setup prioritizes comfort, while the sport suspension lowers the ride height by 20 millimeters for enhanced handling. Prestige models enhance the experience with an adaptive air suspension, which can be controlled with a simple button press or voice commands to the Audi assistant, such as “raise the vehicle” or “lower the air suspension.”
For drivers seeking an edge, the available Sport Plus package enhances the A6 with a sport suspension, a sport rear differential, and four-wheel steering.
Audi equips the 2026 A6 with a comprehensive set of standard ADAS, including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, front cross-traffic warning, forward collision warning, automatic emergency steering, and traffic sign recognition. Premium Plus and Prestige trims feature Park Assist Plus, Adaptive Cruise Assist, and a surround view camera.
The top trims include digital LED daytime running lights with up to seven customizable light signatures. For enhanced visibility and a distinctive appearance, the second-generation OLED rear light has individual, controllable segments.
All 2026 Audi A6 sedans come equipped with a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, while higher end systems feature 20 speakers and integrated headrest speakers for a personalized 3D audio experience. Three-zone climate control is standard, with a four-zone system available as an option. Top trims also include soft-close doors.
