Minivans are not the most exciting vehicles on the planet, but you could make the case that they are the most useful. When it comes to carrying various combinations of people and cargo, minivans offer multiple ways to get the job done. The Chrysler Pacifica and Honda Odyssey are among the cream of the crop, delivering clever ways to make themselves even more valuable.
The Chrysler Pacifica comes from the company that invented the minivan. Over the decades that ensued, the Chrysler minivans (first the Town & Country and then the Pacifica) have been the subject of continuous improvement. Stow 'n Go foldaway seats have been their calling card for years. More recently, the Pacifica introduced the first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) minivan to the market, and it remains the only one on the American market today.
Although the Honda Odyssey's history is not as long, it also has a proud past. It was the first to offer an integral minivan vacuum designed to clean up after messy occupants, a feature Chrysler subsequently adopted. Honda updated the 2025 Odyssey with fresh front and rear exterior styling, new features across the board, and a larger infotainment touchscreen, among other items.
In some ways, the term “minivan” is a misnomer because today's minivans aren't small and, in fact, offer among the largest interiors of any mainstream vehicle. Though base models are utilitarian, the pricier trim levels deliver the style of a luxury car. In addition, their manufacturers fill them with technology, including sophisticated infotainment and leading-edge advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
As two of the market's most popular minivans, the Chrysler Pacifica and Honda Odyssey share many similarities in their separate quests to fulfill the hopes and dreams of American families. Which one is right for your driveway? That's what this 2025 Chrysler Pacifica vs. 2025 Honda Odyssey comparison will help you determine.
2025 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle
The 2025 Chrysler Pacifica offers three trim levels: Select, Limited, and Pinnacle. All three come standard with a conventional gas engine, while the Select and Pinnacle offer a PHEV powertrain. All 2025 Pacifica minivans—conventional or PHEV—have standard front-wheel drive (FWD). All-wheel drive (AWD) is available in conventionally powered vans but not in PHEVs. Notably, Chrysler resurrected the Voyager nameplate for 2025, adding a value-priced FWD-only entry-level model to its minivan lineup. However, the focus of this comparison remains the Pacifica.
The Select is the least costly conventionally powered Pacifica, priced at $42,450. The top-of-the-line Pacifica Pinnacle starts at $54,730. The Select begins at around $51,000 on the PHEV side, and the Pinnacle costs around $60,000. Prices do not include the $1,695 destination charge. The Pacifica Hybrid is eligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit.
All 2025 Pacifica minivans come with complimentary roadside assistance for five years or 60,000 miles, but they don't offer free scheduled maintenance. Buyers can subscribe to a wide variety of connected services. The Safety & Security package, complimentary for 10 years, includes emergency calls and vehicle theft alerts.
The newly refreshed 2025 Honda Odyssey lineup offers four trims: EX-L, Sport-L, Touring, and Elite; Honda dropped the entry-level EX trim for 2025. All 2025 Odysseys offer the same time-tested V6 powertrain with FWD. The EX-L is the least expensive 2025 Odyssey with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $41,920. The luxuriously equipped Elite reigns at the top of the lineup with an MSRP of $50,880. Prices do not include the $1,395 destination charge.
Honda covers Odyssey owners with roadside assistance coverage for three years or 36,000 miles. In addition, the Odyssey offers complimentary scheduled maintenance for the first two years or 24,000 miles.
Advantage: Chrysler Pacifica
Why? Although the base Odyssey trim slightly undercuts the Pacifica in price, Chrysler offers a broader product range, available AWD, and PHEV versions.
2025 Honda Odyssey
The Chrysler Pacifica does not rank among the top three models in the Minivan segment in the JD Power 2024 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS), which assesses owner-reported problems during the third year of ownership.
The Pacifica also does not rank among the top three models in its segment in the JD Power 2024 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS), which tracks problems experienced by owners during the first 90 days.
The 2025 Chrysler Pacifica offers a standard three-year or 36,000-mile warranty and a powertrain warranty of five years or 60,000 miles. Hybrid systems carry a 10-year/100,000-mile warranty.
The Honda Odyssey ranks third in the Minivan segment in the 2024 VDS but does not rank among the top three models in its segment in the 2024 IQS. Its standard warranty and powertrain warranty match the Pacifica's.

Why? The Odyssey ranks among the top three models in its segment in vehicle dependability.
2025 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle
The 2025 Chrysler Pacifica offers conventional and PHEV powertrain options. The conventional, gasoline-fueled 3.6-liter V6 engine produces 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, matched with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, while AWD is an option with the conventional powertrain. The Pacifica Hybrid uses an Atkinson-cycle version of the V6 and adds two electric motors powered by a 16-kWh (kilowatt-hour) lithium-ion battery. The total system power is 260 hp, and all Pacifica PHEVs are FWD.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the conventionally powered FWD Pacifica at 22 mpg in combined driving and the AWD version at 20 mpg. At the time of writing, the EPA has not rated the fuel economy of the 2025 Pacifica Hybrid. However, the mechanically identical 2024 model received an 82-MPGe combined rating and an estimated all-electric driving range of 32 miles.
The 2025 Honda Odyssey offers a single powertrain: a 3.5-liter V6 engine teamed with a 10-speed automatic driving the front wheels. The venerable V6 delivers 280 hp and 262 pound-feet of torque, moving the minivan with surprising alacrity.
The EPA rates the 2025 Honda Odyssey at 22 mpg in combined driving.
Advantage: Chrysler Pacifica
Why? The Pacifica offers a PHEV powertrain with excellent fuel economy and an AWD version. The conventionally powered FWD Pacifica and Odyssey perform very similarly.

The 2025 Chrysler Pacifica offers its buyers an impressive array of standard ADAS. Standards include all the safety features listed above, and the Pacifica adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, plus rear parking assistance with automatic braking. A surround-view camera system, front parking assistance with automatic braking, and parallel and perpendicular parking assistance are available.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) awarded the 2025 Chrysler Pacifica a five-star overall safety rating—its highest honor. As of this writing, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has not rated the crashworthiness of the 2025 Pacifica. However, the Institute named the structurally similar 2024 Pacifica a Top Safety Pick for the 2023 calendar year but has not extended the award to 2024.
The 2025 Honda Odyssey offers the ADAS features called out at the beginning of this section standard across the lineup in the Honda Sensing suite. In addition to that comprehensive array, other safety and security standards include traffic-sign recognition, a driver monitoring system, and adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow. Front and rear parking sensors are standard on the Touring and Elite trims.
Like the Pacifica, the NHTSA gave the 2025 Honda Odyssey a five-star overall safety rating. At the time of writing, the IIHS has yet to rate the crashworthiness of the 2025 Honda Odyssey. However, the Institute named the structurally similar 2024 Odyssey a Top Safety Pick for the 2024 calendar year.

Why? The NHTSA and IIHS highly rate both the Pacifica and Odyssey, and they offer comprehensive ADAS collections.
2025 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle
The base infotainment system in the 2025 Chrysler Pacifica is Uconnect 5 with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, AM/FM/HD Radio, integrated voice command with Bluetooth connectivity, voice text reply, Amazon Alexa compatibility, Sirius XM 360L satellite radio with Pandora, and dual phone connectivity. Limited and Pinnacle trims feature Uconnect 5 Nav, adding TomTom navigation, Chrysler Connect, SiriusXM Traffic, SiriusXM Travel Link, and additional over-the-air update capabilities. Alpine and Harman Kardon premium audio systems are available on several trims.
Many 2025 Pacifica trims offer Chrysler Connect, which features various subscription connectivity services. The Safety & Security package—free for 10 years—includes emergency calls, automatic emergency calls, and vehicle theft alerts. A 4G Wi-Fi hotspot is available by subscription.
Uconnect Theater with wireless streaming, standard on the Pinnacle and available optionally on other trims, features 10.1-inch passenger touchscreens, Amazon Fire TV, and a Blu-ray/DVD player. The entertainment package includes games, wireless headphones, video remote controls, HDMI inputs, a third-row USB charge port, and a 115-volt auxiliary power outlet. An in-vehicle public address and camera system is also available.
Honda fits the 2025 Odyssey with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is down on features versus some competitors. In addition to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, it offers SiriusXM, Bluetooth connectivity, HD Radio, and a wireless phone charger. Its Touring and Elite trims feature a satellite-linked navigation system with voice recognition and digital traffic information. A premium 550-watt, 11-speaker audio system is standard on the Elite trim.
The Touring and Elite trims give their owners access to HondaLink Subscription Services and Wi-Fi hotspot capability. The complimentary HondaLink Basic plan offers quick access to roadside assistance, vehicle guides, and the ability to schedule service appointments. The Security plan—available with a free trial—provides emergency call service and automatic collision notification.
The Touring and Elite trims offer a rear-seat entertainment system with a 12.8-inch digital display, a pair of wireless headphones, and streaming apps. Those trims also feature an HDMI interface and a 115-volt front power outlet. The Odyssey offers an in-vehicle public address system and rear-seat passenger monitor.
Advantage: Chrysler Pacifica
Why? The Pacifica has a more full-featured infotainment system with a larger display screen plus more elaborate optional audio systems.
2025 Honda Odyssey
Most 2025 Chrysler Pacificas are seven-passenger vehicles, but with the right configuration, they can seat eight. One of the handiest aspects of the Pacifica is its Stow 'n Go second- and third-row seats that fold into the floor. The third row in the Limited and Pinnacle trims power-folds. The PHEV models have captain's chairs in the second row rather than Stow 'n Go seats.
Leatherette seats are standard in the base Select, while Nappa leather is standard in the Limited and Pinnacle trims. Three-zone automatic climate control is standard across the lineup, and an integrated vacuum cleaner is standard on the Pinnacle and available on other trims.
The Pacifica offers a standard eight-way power-adjustable driver seat with power lumbar support, and an eight-way front passenger seat is widely available. Heated front seats are standard across all trims, and heated second-row seats are optional on some. Ventilated front seats are standard on Limited and Pinnacle trims.
The Pacifica provides 32.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, which expands to 87.5 cubic feet with the third-row seats stowed and a whopping 140.5 cubic feet with second- and third-row seats stowed. Power-operated sliding side doors and liftgate make loading and unloading easier.
The 2025 Honda Odyssey offers comfortable seating for as many as eight occupants. Its rear seats are especially notable. The Magic Slide second-row seats slide side-to-side, forward, and rearward, working with a removable center seat to provide various options. The third-row 60/40 split Magic Seat folds out of the way to provide a flat load floor. The second-row seats are more comfortable than the Pacifica's Stow 'n Go seats. With the departure of the entry-level EX trim, all 2025 Odysseys have standard leather seats.
The Odyssey's roomy, well-appointed cabin seems exceptionally expansive. Heated front seats are standard across the lineup, and Honda equips its minivan with 12-way power-adjustable driver's seats, including four-way power lumbar support. Eight-way power-adjustable front passenger seats are standard. If you want ventilated front seats, you must buy the top Elite trim.
The Odyssey provides 32.8 cubic feet of luggage space behind the third-row seats. With the third row folded into the floor, it offers 89.2 cubic feet of cargo space. With the second- and third-row seats out of the way, the minivan can accommodate 144.9 cubic feet of cargo. A power-operated liftgate with programmable height settings is standard on all trims.

Why? The Pacifica and Odyssey have ingeniously designed interiors that deliver exceptional versatility and plenty of passenger and cargo space.
