While the common perception is that nobody buys sedans anymore, the 2024 Toyota Camry and 2024 Honda Accord disprove that notion by continuing to sell in significant numbers. Last year, Toyota moved over 290,000 Camrys while Honda parked nearly 200,000 Accords in consumer driveways. Clearly, these two five-passenger midsize sedans continue to fulfill the needs of hundreds of thousands of buyers, as they have for several decades.
Honda introduced a redesigned Accord for the 2023 model year. Toyota has already revealed a new hybrid-only 2025 Camry that will go on sale later this year. These actions make it evident that Honda and Toyota think the midsize sedan has a prosperous future ahead of it.
As arch-rivals, the 2024 Camry and 2024 Accord have many similarities. Both offer buyers the choice of gas-only or fuel-sipping hybrid powertrains. Both offer roomy interiors, comfortable seating, and good trunk space. In addition, each features an impressive roster of advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS).
One big difference exists between these rivals. The Camry offers all-wheel-drive and V6 engine options, while the Accord does not. Otherwise, these two family cars are very much alike. The nuances discussed in this comparison should help determine which would be more appropriate for you.

2024 Toyota Camry SE
The 2024 Toyota Camry gives potential customers the choice of three powertrains and six trim levels. The lineup includes LE, XLE, SE, SE Nightshade, TRD, and XSE trim levels, with the V6 engine available only with XLE, XSE, and TRD trim.
Prices start at $26,420 for the LE four-cylinder ($28,855 for the Hybrid LE). At the opposite end of the affordability scale, the XSE V6 has the highest manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $36,845. These prices do not include a destination charge of $1,095.
The 2024 Camry includes two years of roadside assistance coverage with no mileage limit and complimentary scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles. All Camrys offer several connected service plans with free trial subscriptions. For example, you get one month of Wi-Fi Connect, one year of Remote Connect and Safety Connect, and ten years of Service Connect.
Honda makes the 2024 Honda Accord available in six trim levels, two with gas-only engines and four with hybrid powertrains. The LX and EX trims have a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The Sport Hybrid, EX-L Hybrid, Sport L Hybrid, and Touring Hybrid have, as you might expect, a fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain.
Prices for 2024 Accords range from $27,895 for the LX to $38,890 for the Touring Hybrid. The least expensive hybrid model, the Sport Hybrid, has an MSRP of $32,895. You'll need to add the $1,095 destination charge to those values.
Accord owners benefit from complimentary roadside assistance coverage for three years or 36,000 miles, and free scheduled maintenance for two years or 24,000 miles. All 2024 Accords also offer three grades of HondaLink connected services. HondaLink Basic and HondaLink Link are complimentary but offer few features. HondaLink Remote is the more appealing and comprehensive plan, but it includes a relatively short three-month trial subscription.
Advantage: Camry
Why? The Camry is less expensive and offers more generous trial subscriptions to connected services.

2024 Honda Accord Touring
The Toyota Camry is the highest-ranked vehicle in the Midsize Car segment in the JD Power 2024 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS), which assesses owner-reported problems during the third year of ownership.
The Camry is also the highest-ranked vehicle in its segment in the JD Power 2023 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS), which tracks problems experienced by owners during the first 90 days of ownership.
The 2024 Toyota Camry offers a standard three years or 36,000 miles warranty and a powertrain warranty of five years or 60,000 miles. Its hybrid battery warranty extends to 10 years or 150,000 miles.
The Honda Accord does not rank among the top three vehicles in the Midsize Car segment in the 2024 VDS or the 2023 IQS. Its warranty coverage matches the Camry's, except for the hybrid's battery warranty of eight years or 100,000 miles.
Advantage: Toyota Camry
Why? The Camry outranks the Accord in quality and dependability studies and offers a longer hybrid battery warranty.

2024 Toyota Camry TRD
The 2024 Toyota Camry offers several powertrains. The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine delivers 203 horsepower, and the increasingly rare V6 engine supplies 301 horsepower. Both pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor for a total output of 208 horsepower. Most Camrys are front-wheel-drive, but all-wheel-drive (AWD) is available with the standard four-cylinder engine.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) fuel economy estimates for the 2024 Camry vary widely. The Hybrid LE trim leads the pack with 52 mpg in combined driving, while the other hybrids are EPA-rated at 46 mpg. The standard four-cylinder supplies 32 mpg (29 mpg with AWD), and the V6 gets a 26-mpg rating.
Honda equips the 2024 Accord LX and EX with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 192 horsepower. The engine teams with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Accord Hybrids use a "two-motor" hybrid system with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors to deliver 204 horsepower. All 2024 Honda Accords have front-wheel drive.
According to the EPA, the 2024 Accord Hybrid EX-L delivers an estimated 48 mpg combined, while the Sport, Sport-L, and Touring versions earn a rating of 44 mpg combined. The turbocharged Accord LX and EX sedans are estimated to return 32 mpg combined.
Advantage: Toyota Camry
Why? The Camry offers more engine choices across a wider variety of trim levels, and the hybrids are more efficient.

2024 Honda Accord Sport
At this point, it is reasonable for any consumer to expect a brand-new vehicle to include the following safety features:
So, how do the Camry and Accord stack up? Let's take a look.
Toyota equips every 2024 Camry with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ (TSS 2.5+), plus a rear-seat reminder system. In addition to the features listed above, TSS 2.5+ also includes adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assistance, and a road sign recognition system. Unfortunately, the TSS 2.5+ suite does not include standard blind-spot and rear cross-traffic warnings. Those are optional on lower trims and standard only on higher trims.
In addition, every Camry provides one free year of Safety Connect services, including automatic collision notification and emergency SOS assistance. A surround-view camera system is available on some versions of the Camry.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) had not fully rated the 2024 Camry models for crash protection as this was written. The car did earn a Top Safety Pick+ designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
The 2024 Honda Accord offers the Honda Sensing collection of ADAS as standard equipment, and it matches what the Camry provides right down to the rear-seat reminder system. However, only the LX trim lacks blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic warning. Those features are standard across the rest of the lineup.
Unlike the Camry, the Accord does not offer a surround-view camera system. In addition, the Accord is ineligible for the HondaLink Security plan, so it lacks some of the connected services related to safety that you can get on the Camry. However, with the HondaLink Remote service, you get safe teen driver settings related to speed and boundary alerts.
As of this writing, the NHTSA has not rated the 2024 Accord for safety. The IIHS called the Accord a 2024 Top Safety Pick+, matching the Camry.
Advantage: Neither
Why? The Camry and Accord offer similar arrays of ADAS, and IIHS ratings are virtually identical.

2024 Toyota Camry SE
Regarding infotainment, the 2024 Toyota Camry offers a standard 7-inch touchscreen with wired Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a limited free trial subscription to SiriusXM radio. More expensive versions of the car get a 9-inch touchscreen but with similar functionality, including wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A nine-speaker JBL premium audio system is also available.
The Camry also offers a robust roster of connected services. Those seeking internet connectivity will want Wi-Fi Connect, which supports up to five devices. Remote Connect enables remote engine starting and door lock operation, vehicle status alerts, guest driver monitoring, and a location finder. Safety Connect features quick access to emergency services, roadside assistance, and automatic collision notification.
Depending upon the trim level, the Camry's instrument panel has a 4.2-inch or a 7-inch digital display. Wireless smartphone charging is widely available across the lineup, and a 10-inch color head-up display is available on some of the higher trims.
The 2024 Honda Accord offers a Google Built-in infotainment system. It's impressive, with Google Assistant, Google Maps, and apps from the Google Play store. The only problem is that it's only available on the top-end Touring Hybrid, which is also your ticket to a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system.
The LX and EX trims get a 7-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Hybrids (except the Touring) have a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and Alexa compatibility.
Honda offers three tiers of HondaLink subscription services and Wi-Fi hotspot capability across the Accord lineup. HondaLink services overlap with the various Toyota plans, adding some exclusive features related to safe teen driving while lacking other features you can get on the Camry.
All 2024 Accords offer a customizable 10.2-inch digital instrumentation display. The Touring trim supplements that with a head-up display. The Touring also has a standard wireless phone charger, optional on other Accords.
Advantage: Honda Accord
Why? The deciding factor is the availability of wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, and the Accord's available Google Built-in technology also trumps the most sophisticated system in the Camry.

2024 Honda Accord Touring
The 2024 Camry delivers ascending comfort levels, depending on the trim level. The lower trims have manually adjusted, cloth-covered seats. Mid-level trims feature artificial leather and eight-way power adjustment, while the top levels offer genuine leather. Heated front seats are widely available, and the XLE and XSE offer optional ventilated front seats. The Camry TRD has synthetic leather with red-stitched accents, a more expressive treatment than the Accord offers.
The 2024 Toyota Camry provides 100.4 cubic feet of passenger volume, less than the Accord, though the Camry still feels roomy. The trunk offers 15.1 cubic feet of capacity, considerably less than the Accord.
Like the Camry, the 2024 Honda Accord seats up to five people on roomy and comfortable seats. Heated front seats are standard on most trims, and in the top-of-the-line Touring, the two outboard rear seats are heated, and the front seats are ventilated. Honda makes a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat standard for all but the Accord LX. Leather seats are standard in every hybrid trim except the Sport.
Honda says the Accord's passenger cabin offers 105.7 cubic feet of space, but it feels roomier than that. In addition, the Accord sedan provides a substantial 16.7 cubic feet of trunk volume. The remote trunk lid opening feature aids in loading and unloading.
Advantage: Honda Accord
Why? The Accord has more passenger space, a bigger trunk, wider availability of leather seats, and 10-way power adjustment versus eight-way in the Camry.
