With upgraded technology, enhanced safety features, and all-wheel drive (AWD) available on hybrid models, the 2026 Toyota Corolla remains a versatile and value-focused compact sedan.

Trim level options for the 2026 Toyota Corolla include the LE, SE, and XSE. Hybrid versions add LE AWD and SE AWD for drivers seeking better handling and traction, along with improved fuel economy, as well as an XLE level. Both models are built on the same platform, which offers a low center of gravity and a rigid structure, according to Toyota.
Under the Corolla’s hood is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), delivering 169 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. For internal combustion engine (ICE) models, Toyota estimates a combined fuel economy of 35 mpg. Three drive modes are available: Normal, Eco, and Sport.
Performance on the hybrid version decreases slightly. A 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid system and a CVT makes 138 hp and 105 pound-feet of torque in the Corolla Hybrid. However, fuel economy increases considerably compared to the non-hybrid model. According to Toyota, drivers can expect their fuel economy to reach up to 50 mpg combined.
All 2026 Toyota Corolla sedans and hatchbacks feature a refreshed interior. Lower trims come with fabric upholstery and six-way adjustable driver seats, while XSE and XLE trims include a SofTex-trimmed eight-way power-adjustable heated driver’s seat. Both a wireless smartphone charger and a power moonroof are offered as optional extras.
Lower trims come equipped with an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, while the XSE and XLE trims feature a larger 10.5-inch screen as standard. The bigger screen is also available as an option on the SE. Toyota includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring across the entire lineup. Higher trims also provide a JBL premium audio system with nine speakers, a subwoofer, and an 800-watt amplifier.
Connectivity features include a Wi-Fi hotspot trial, dual Bluetooth phone pairing, and over-the-air updates. Drivers can also interact with the system using the voice assistant, included with a Drive Connect trial.
Standard blind spot warning and rear cross-traffic warning systems are included on all 2026 Corolla trims, complementing the comprehensive Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of advanced driver assistance systems. It offers everything you'd expect safety-wise in a new car available today.
Pricing begins at $23,920 for the Corolla LE and $25,770 for the Corolla Hybrid LE, both of which include the $1,195 destination charge.

The 2026 Toyota Corolla remains a key contender in the competitive compact sedan market. Its competitors include the Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra, Kia K4, and Nissan Sentra. For hybrid buyers, the Corolla Hybrid competes with the Hyundai Elantra Hybrid and Honda Civic Hybrid.
The Corolla keeps a strong position in its segment because of its affordable price, hybrid option, available AWD, and Toyota's well-known reliability.
