2025 Nissan Rogue Preview

Christian Wardlaw | Jul 11, 2024

How important is the Rogue compact crossover SUV to Nissan? It’s the automaker’s best-selling model and a critical key to its success. That’s why Nissan isn’t allowing crabgrass and weeds to grow around the Rogue wheels, having updated the SUV almost continuously since its last redesign for the 2021 model year.

For example, the Rogue got a new engine in 2022, a blacked-out Midnight Edition package in 2023, and fresh styling and an available Google Built-in infotainment system in 2024. Now, the 2025 Nissan Rogue adds new driver-assistance technology and a rugged-looking Rock Creek trim level. The 2025 Rogue Rock Creek sits in the middle of a lineup that includes the S and SV below it and the SL and Platinum above it.

Nissan expands its Rock Creek off-roader treatment to the 2025 Rogue this year. Based on the Rogue SV, the Rock Creek adds revised front styling with Lava Red accents, a bolder grille with a gloss black and silver finish, gloss black exterior mirror caps, and satin black wheels wrapped in P235/65R17 Falken Wild Peak all-terrain tires. A purposeful tubular roof rack is also standard, and you can get the Rogue Rock Creek in white, black, gray, or the Baja Storm color seen in the photos.

Nissan equips the 2025 Rogue Rock Creek with water-resistant artificial leather upholstery, suggesting preparedness for adventure, rain or shine. However, this version of the SUV also has piano black interior trim, so if you use the Rock Creek in dry and dusty environments, that surface finish will showcase the grit that accumulates in the cabin.

The heated front seats are stylish, with appealing cloth inserts and Rock Creek embossed on the seatbacks. A Lava Red Nissan logo lives on the steering wheel, and Lava Red contrast stitching is evident throughout the cabin. Nissan offers a Premium Package that equips the Rock Creek with a heated steering wheel, memory for the driver’s settings, a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, wireless smartphone charging, and more.

Unfortunately, you cannot get the Rogue’s sophisticated Google Built-in infotainment system in the Rock Creek. Instead, Nissan provides a relatively small 8-inch touchscreen running its increasingly outdated NissanConnect software. But, the system has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which is all anyone really needs.

All 2025 Rogue models have a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine, making a robust 201 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) feeds the power to the front wheels unless the SUV has all-wheel drive (AWD).

In addition to its all-terrain tires, the Rogue Rock Creek boasts standard AWD, hill descent control, and an off-road-tuned suspension. Ground clearance measures 8.2 inches, the same as other Rogues, and the Rock Creek does not boast improvements in approach, breakover, and departure angles. So, you’ll need to take it easy in the dirt because Rogue Rock Creek is only slightly more capable than the others.

2025 Nissan Rogue Safety and Technology - Find the best Nissan Rogue deals!

Perhaps the more significant news regarding the 2025 Nissan Rogue is the availability of ProPilot Assist 2.1, a hands-free advanced driving assistance system (ADAS) for use on approved limited-access highways.

ProPilot Assist 2.1 builds on the company’s ProPilot Assist 1.1 technology, which provides adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assistance to create a hands-on semi-autonomous driving aid. For the 2025 model year, ProPilot Assist 1.1 is an option with SV and Rock Creek trim and is standard on the SL and Platinum. The hands-free ProPilot Assist 2.1 system is an option only for the Rogue SL and Rogue Platinum.

In addition, Nissan upgrades a driver’s outward visibility in most versions of the Rogue. The Rock Creek has a standard Intelligent Around View Monitor surround-view camera system with an Off-Road view that works at speeds under 12 mph. With SL and Platinum trim, the camera tech adds a new 3-D view.

A Technology Package upgrades the Intelligent Around View Monitor with new Front Wide View and Invisible Hood View functions. Front Wide View provides a nearly 180-degree view to the front of the SUV, while Invisible Hood View makes it possible to see where the front wheels are relative to the surface under the Rogue’s front end. It would seem Invisible Hood View would be more helpful in the Rock Creek.

2025 Nissan Rogue Competitors - Find the best Nissan Rogue deals!

With the 2025 Rogue, Nissan battles the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 in the compact crossover SUV segment. Additional rivals include the Buick Envision, Chevrolet Equinox, Dodge Hornet, Ford Escape, GMC Terrain, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-5, Mazda CX-50, Mitsubishi Outlander, Subaru Forester, and Volkswagen Tiguan.

Clearly, consumers have numerous models from which to choose. But Nissan is doing its best to ensure the 2025 Rogue remains on your radar.

Nissan is the source of information in this article. It was accurate as of July 9, 2024, but it may have changed since that date. Always confirm product details and availability with the automaker’s website or your local dealership.
