For 2026, Nissan is launching a retro-inspired Heritage Edition package for its sporty Z car. Available only on the Performance trim level, this new package features a distinctive purple exterior paint color, bronze accents, and a carbon fiber rear spoiler for an additional $2,940.
The 2026 Z lineup continues with Sport, Performance, and Nismo trims, with the Heritage Edition only available on the Performance version. Pricing for the 2026 Nissan Z starts at $44,215. The price includes the destination charge and does not include any current rebates or incentives.
The 2026 Nissan Z Heritage Edition mainly offers a visual upgrade that pays tribute to the Nissan 300ZX, also known as the Z32 by enthusiasts. It features a GT-R-inspired Midnight Purple paint job with bronze “Twin Turbo” graphics on the sides and a badge with the same on the carbon fiber spoiler at the back. Inside, it includes special door kick plates and exclusive floor mats. The car sits on 19-inch bronze wheels.
The seventh generation Z continues to blend modern performance with a nod to its past by incorporating iconic references to its storied history. For example, it features a raised hood bulge, twin crescent-shaped LED daytime running lights, elongated oval taillights, and a blacked-out center section at the rear.
A twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine powers the Z, delivering 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. The two lower trims are offered with either a nine-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. Standard on the Sport versions are a digital meter display, an 8-inch touchscreen, and 18-inch wheels with high performance tires.
Nissan Z Performance trims include a limited-slip differential, a 9-inch touchscreen, Nissan performance brakes, and 19-inch forged wheels with Bridgestone high performance tires.
For the Nismo version, Nissan adjusts its engine to increase the power output to 420 hp and 384 pound-feet of torque, paired with a quick-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission.
The automaker claims that the Nismo-tuned suspension and brakes, along with updated bodywork and wider wheels, enhance its performance capabilities. Improvements to the Nismo interior include Recaro seats, an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, and a red-anodized engine start button.
Inside, there are three dashboard gauges—a design feature seen in previous models—that display turbocharger boost pressure, turbine speed, and battery voltage. The overall layout is simple and functional, offering standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring. Higher trims include an eight-speaker Bose audio system, heated side mirrors, aluminum sport pedals, and heated leather seats.
The Z is intentionally designed as a driver-focused car, which means its safety features might feel somewhat minimal. It mainly provides basic advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and forward collision warning. Still, it lacks features such as lane keeping assistance, active parking assistance, or a surround view camera.
The 2026 Nissan Z competes with stylish, sporty coupes like the Ford Mustang and Toyota GR Supra. With its retro-inspired Heritage Edition and a focus on performance across trims, the Z continues to attract nostalgic enthusiasts and new buyers seeking affordable sports car excitement.
