2026 Honda Accord Preview

Zac Johnson | Dec 24, 2025

The 2026 Honda Accord forgoes major updates, focusing instead on refining an already well-rounded midsize sedan. For 2026, Honda upgrades the standard tech across the Accord’s lower trim levels and tweaks a few styling elements.

Honda offers the 2026 Accord in six trims—LX, SE, Sport, EX-L, Sport-L, and Touring—and upgrades the base lineup’s tech. The LX and SE, the only non-hybrid models, now come standard with a 9-inch touchscreen (up from 7 inches in 2025), wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring, and a wireless phone charger.

Hybrid trims feature a larger 12.3-inch display, marking a clear technological step up as buyers move into the electrified range. Honda also adds a few trim-specific styling changes, including larger 19-inch wheels for the SE and black exterior accents for the Sport trims.

Aside from those updates, the current exterior design carries over. Compared to the previous model, the eleventh-generation Accord leans toward softer curves and a cleaner profile, shaped by a swooping roofline and subtle hood creases. Hidden exhaust tips and a small ducktail-style spoiler add visual contrast at the back without pushing the Accord toward sport sedan theatrics.

Inside, the cabin layout remains essentially unchanged. The overall design is clean and functional, though some controls still sit in unconventional places, such as the audio knob positioned at an awkward angle at the base of the touchscreen or the heated steering wheel button tucked into the bottom spoke. Otherwise, the interior is thoughtfully executed, with an intuitive, premium layout and feel.

Powertrain options remain unchanged. A turbocharged 1.5-liter engine powers the LX and SE trims, driving the front wheels through a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and producing 192 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque. Hybrid models use Honda’s two-motor hybrid system, pairing a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine with dual electric motors. Total output is 204 hp and 247 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive (AWD) is not available on the 2026 Accord.

Fuel efficiency remains a strong suit for the Accord. Hybrids achieve up to 51 mpg in the city and 48 mpg combined. In comparison, gas-powered Accords deliver up to 37 mpg on the highway and 32 mpg combined, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Pricing starts at $29,590, including the $1,195 destination charge. Hybrid models start at $34,990 and climb to $40,645 for the Touring trim level.

All 2026 Accords include Honda Sensing, a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) that bundles features such as adaptive cruise control with low speed follow, lane departure warning, and lane keeping assistance. Honda’s safety suite is comprehensive for the class and stacks up well against rival systems.

Alternatives to the 2026 Honda Accord include the Hyundai Sonata, Kia K5, Nissan Altima, and Toyota Camry, each offering a distinct blend of technology, features, and efficiency. While this update is not a major refresh, and the Accord still does not offer AWD, it stands out for its competitive standard tech, well-rounded safety suite, and excellent fuel economy. For shoppers who want a comfortable, efficient, and engaging daily driver, the Accord remains a highly dependable choice.
