Globally, Maserati is in the midst of a grand scheme to offer battery-electric versions of all of its available models by the end of 2025 and to become a fully electric vehicle (EV) brand by 2030. Because of this, 2025 is a consolidation year for the Italian performance-luxury brand in the United States after the debut of the GranCabrio and GranCabrio Folgore in June 2024. Production of the Levante ended in 2024, though some might remain in U.S. dealers’ inventories.
Introduced in 2024, the Maserati GranCabrio sports car offers the Trofeo gasoline-fueled variation and the Folgore battery-electric. In Trofeo guise, it features a twin-turbocharged “Nettuno” 3.0-liter V6 engine with 542 horsepower, which pales in comparison to the Folgore’s 1,200-hp all-electric drivetrain.
Though it is a sports car through and through, it offers four seats along with reasonable amounts of luggage space. According to Maserati, its soft top opens in 14 seconds and can operate on the move at speeds up to about 25 mph. The GranCabrio Folgore uses 800-volt technology and features three electric motors—one in the front and two in the rear. The decoupled rear motors enable torque vectoring, independently directing torque to each wheel for magical handling.
The GranTurismo luxury-performance coupe returns for 2025 virtually unchanged after its reintroduction in 2024 following a multi-year absence. It features the same Nettuno twin-turbocharged V6 engine found in the GranCabrio in two states of tune, with the more potent one offering 542 hp. A Folgore trim features the three-motor electric powertrain also used in the GranCabrio battery-electric convertible.
The Grecale is Maserati’s lone SUV offering for 2025 with the expected demise of the Levante crossover. Based on the platform supporting the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the five-passenger Grecale is essentially unchanged for 2025.
