Changes to 2021 Jaguar Models Eliminate a Car, Add Better Tech

Liz Kim | Dec 03, 2020

Could you have imagined a future in which Jaguar would ditch the old-world, regal glamour of its sedans and embrace the SUV lifestyle? That day is here, for the most part.

For 2021, the automaker drops the compact XE sedan. Now, the Jaguar lineup consists of a sports car, a single sedan, and three SUVs, including an all-electric ‘ute. Gone are the days of the elegant long-wheelbase Vanden Plas (the S is silent) and its haughty fold-down table for the convenience of its VIP rear passengers, but at least you can look forward to the increased utility of cargo space.

Jaguar also implements its new Pivi Pro infotainment system across most of the 2021 lineup. The next-generation technology improves the user experience with swifter, smoother and more accurate operation, and benefits from over-the-air update capability. Here are the other changes for the 2021 Jaguars.

This baby Jaguar SUV is also the most affordable of the bunch, now that the XE sedan is no more. The 2021 Jaguar E-Pace gets a new bumper, headlights, wheel designs, and some revisions to the rear end to keep the styling fresh. Inside, you’ll note the new 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while optional upgrades include a new digital gauge cluster and a rear camera mirror

Jaguar’s best-seller, the F-Pace midsize SUV, gets a light exterior styling refresh, including a bigger grille and new headlamps and taillamps. Jaguar also upgrades the F-Pace’s interior. A curved-glass 11.4-inch touchscreen display dominates the center stack and serves as the center for Pivi Pro infotainment control.

More importantly, in addition to the standard 246-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a new powerplant choice debuts. It’s a mild-hybrid 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder boasting both turbocharging and supercharging, and its tuned to deliver 335-hp in the P340 S and 395-hp in the P400 R-Dynamic S. Every 2021 Jaguar F-Pace has standard all-wheel drive.

The high-performance F-Pace SVR continues, getting a minor power bump, a Dynamic Launch system, and returned steering, suspension, and braking components to ensure maximum performance.

2021 Jaguar F-Type Changes - Find the best Jaguar deals!

Jaguar’s sexy coupe and convertible get a leaner and meaner front end this year, as well as a new rear look. Inside, you’ll find all-new digital gauges and upgraded materials. The top-of-the-line F-Type R adds 25 additional horsepower from its supercharged 5.0-liter V-8, helping to make up for the loss of the discontinued F-Type SVR.

2021 Jaguar I-Pace Changes - Find the best Jaguar deals!

Jaguar’s all-electric SUV receives minor appearance updates. And thanks to the Pivi Pro infotainment system’s over-the-air software updates, it’s now easier than ever to find charging stations to juice up your I-Pace when battery charge gets low. New colors and wheel choices, along with minor trim details, are also available.

More exciting is the switch from a 7 kW onboard charger to an 11 kW unit, which decreases the time to fully charge a depleted battery from 12.6 hours to 8.6 hours. A full battery officially allows for about 234 miles of driving range, but Jaguar says that software updates may increase that number by up to 12 miles.

2021 Jaguar XF Changes - Find the best Jaguar deals!

Jaguar eliminates the supercharged V-6 engine option from the XF lineup, kills the Sportbrake wagon body style, and drops prices to plug the hole left by the smaller XE’s departure from the lineup. The 2021 Jaguar XF now offers two versions of a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The P250 S and SE boast 246 hp and rear-wheel drive, while the P300 R-Dynamic SE supplies 296-hp and all-wheel drive. Minor styling touch-ups, new wheel designs, a new dashboard and interior details, and Pivi Pro round out the changes.
