Changes to the 2021 Jaguar E-Pace Bring Quality, Technology to the Fore

Jaguar gives its smallest SUV, the E-Pace, a minor makeover for the 2021 model year, tweaking the exterior styling, improving the interior, upgrading the technology upgrade, and enhancing the driving dynamics. Jaguar also slims the E-Pace lineup to three models – P250, P250 SE, and 300 Sport – each equipped with standard all-wheel-drive.

The 2021 Jaguar E-Pace looks similar to the 2020 version, but styling updates bring new lighting, grille, and bumper designs. Perhaps most noticeable is the new two-tier "double J-blade" LED running light motif. Viewed from the side, the 2021 E-Pace displays new fender vents with leaping cat emblems, while around the back, Jaguar makes minor modifications to the valence panel between the exhaust outlets.

Naturally, given how popular the look is, a Black Exterior Pack is optional. It features Narvik Black finish for the SUV's grille surround, bumper inserts, side vents, window trim, and rear badges. A set of 20-inch Satin Dark Grey aluminum wheels is available.

Interior changes focus on improving perceptions of quality. They include more soft-touch surfaces, added metallic accents, thoughtful detailing, and additional Jaguar-branded logos. The top-of-the-line E-Pace 300 Sport features illuminated door sill plates and a black simulated suede headliner. Storage is also more accessible, and a new cabin air ionization system capable of filtering PM2.5 particulates is an option, making it perfect for the times.

Jaguar installs its latest infotainment technology in the new 2021 E-Pace. Equipped with a curved-glass 11.4-inch touchscreen display, the Pivi (navigation via smartphone) and Pivi Pro (embedded navigation) infotainment systems run on a new electrical architecture that produces several enhancements. The system loads faster, works better, and can smoothly perform multiple tasks simultaneously. The P250 SE and 300 Sport have Pivi Pro as standard equipment.

Digital instrumentation with a 12.3-inch display continues as an option, now with improved graphics. Jaguar also says the optional head-up display is larger, brighter, and crisper than before, and the automaker adds its ClearSight rear camera mirror to the E-Pace's options list for 2021. New cameras power the SUV's standard surround-view camera system.

Two engines are available for the 2021 Jaguar E-Pace. The P250 and P250 SE have a 246-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a driveline-disconnect AWD system. The 300 Sport supplies 296 horsepower from a mild-hybrid version of that engine, and it uses an active torque-vectoring AWD system. For 2021, Jaguar stiffens the E-Pace's structure for improved ride and handling character and reduced noise, vibration, and harshness.

Prices for the 2021 Jaguar E-Pace start at $40,995, not including the $1,050 destination charge. The 300 Sport kicks off at $49,995, plus destination. Now that Jaguar has discontinued the XE sedan, the 2021 E-Pace serves as the brand's entry point.
