Honda claims the HR-V is America’s most popular SUV among first-time and Gen-Z buyers. With the 2026 Honda HR-V, the automaker hopes to grow the small crossover’s popularity with a light refresh that brings updated tech, new color options, and a comprehensive advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) package.
On sale now, the 2026 Honda HR-V starts at $27,595 for the base model, including the $1,395 destination charge. Three trim levels are available: LX, Sport, and EX-L. All-wheel drive (AWD) is available for an additional $1,500 on any trim. The small SUV returns with the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine under the hood, producing 158 horsepower. Honda pairs it with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and three selectable drive modes: Normal, Eco, and Snow. three selectable drive modes: Normal, Eco, and Snow.
From the outside, the 2026 HR-V remains practically the same as before, although Honda added two new color options: Solar Reflection Metallic and Boost Blue Pearl. New wheel designs include 17-inch alloys on the LX and 18-inch alloys on both Sport and EX-L trims. Meanwhile, the top-level HR-V gains silver steering wheel accents, illuminated climate control knobs, and front footwell lighting.
For the most part, updates to the interior focus on technology. A 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system is now standard across all trims, replacing last year’s 7-inch unit, along with a faster processor and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring. Below the screen is a new wireless charger for compatible devices, and Honda placed USB-C ports throughout the cabin to make charging accessible for all passengers. Additionally, rear privacy glass is now standard on all trims.
The EX-L trim adds comfort-focused features like heated, eight-way power-adjustable front seats and leather-trimmed upholstery. All 2026 HR-V SUVs offer versatile cargo space with a 60/40 split-folding back row. There’s 24.4 cubic feet of storage behind the second row, which expands to 55.1 cubic feet when you fold the seats flat.
Every 2026 HR-V includes the Honda Sensing ADAS suite, which includes all the features you would expect in a modern vehicle. The HR-V also comes standard with Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure and next-generation airbag technology designed to improve passenger protection in frontal collisions.
The 2026 Honda HR-V competes in a tightly packed subcompact SUV segment that includes the Chevrolet Trax, Dodge Hornet, Hyundai Kona, Kia Seltos, Mazda CX-30, Nissan Kicks, Subaru Crosstrek, and Toyota Corolla Cross.
While rivals offer turbocharged engines or hybrid options, the HR-V appeals with accessible pricing, a spacious interior, and comprehensive safety features. For first-time buyers and value-focused shoppers, Honda’s smallest SUV remains a practical and reliable choice.
