The minor updates luxury automaker Genesis applied to the 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70 significantly enhance the compact premium SUV’s overall styling, making them more sophisticated and engaging than ever.

With two robust powertrain options and an 84-kilowatt-hour (kWh) high-capacity battery for the electrified model, the GV70 promises high levels of performance and range. Inside, the tech-rich cabin boasts a 27-inch OLED panoramic display, luxurious Nappa leather options, and advanced safety and convenience features that Genesis says elevate the driving experience.

Subtle updates to the 2026 GV70’s exterior reinforce the Genesis “athletic elegance” design philosophy. The SUV’s front end features broader air intake grilles, a new skid plate, and two distinct mesh grille designs: one for internal combustion engine (ICE) models and another for electrified versions.
Significant upgrades to the vehicle’s charge port make charging the Electrified GV70 more convenient. Electric versions now have a NACS charge port and a CCS adapter, providing access to over 36,000 DC fast chargers. Additional conveniences include an electric motor for opening and closing the charge port, a heating element for cold weather, and lights for improved visibility in the dark.
The sporty sloped side profile features redesigned 19- and 21-inch wheel options, and the rear turn signal lights now mirror the iconic two-line multi-lens array headlight design.

Inside the 2026 Genesis GV70 is a massive 27-inch OLED panoramic display that integrates the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system into one broad, continuous screen. Accessing the wireless charging pad is now more convenient, and the steering wheel has a refreshed design. Up to four Nappa leather color options are available.

Genesis did not make changes to the GV70’s powertrain options for 2026. Buyers of the conventionally powered GV70 still choose between a 300-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder or a more powerful 375-hp, twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6. Meanwhile, the all-electric GV70 has an 84-kWh high-capacity battery, offering more range and flexibility.
A new Terrain mode for the 2026 model year lets drivers select the optimal drive mode for the current road conditions, choosing from Snow, Mud, or Sand.

According to Genesis, the 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70 combine innovation, safety, and comfort for a premium driving experience. Enhanced voice-recognition controls manage climate control settings and windows, while over-the-air updates keep the SUV’s software current. The GV70’s digital key offers seamless access and customization, and the Smart Key now extends to the second row for added convenience.
Genesis says the GV70’s Highway Body Motion Control improves vehicle stability by adjusting damping forces during acceleration and deceleration. At the same time, the Road Preview system uses cameras to optimize the suspension for a smoother ride. The automaker bolstered the GV70’s safety with steering wheel Hands-On Detection, enhanced lane-centering assistance, and upgraded Remote Smart Parking Assist with diagonal parking capability.
Inside, a premium Bang & Olufsen surround-sound system with Beosonic technology and 16 speakers pairs with adjustable ambient lighting, offering a luxurious and immersive cabin experience.
The 2026 Genesis GV70 competes in the Compact Premium SUV market segment against the Audi Q5, BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Volvo XC60. Each offers luxury, performance, and advanced technology. Still, the GV70 stands out with its unique styling, comprehensive safety suite, and advanced in-cabin technology. With its luxurious appointments and versatile powertrains, the GV70 carves a distinct niche, appealing to drivers seeking sophistication and practicality in equal measure.
