Despite its concise product portfolio, Mitsubishi caters to a wide range of vehicle needs, from small cars to 7-passenger SUVs. For 2024, Mitsubishi models receive several trim and packaging updates, predominantly for the Outlander lineup. The Outlander and Outlander Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) now offer Platinum Editions. At the same time, a refreshed Outlander SEL Black Edition brings an array of newly blacked-out exterior and interior elements. In addition, Mitsubishi will offer the updated SEL Black Edition on the Outlander PHEV for the first time. Also, the Outlander Sport gets a more rugged Trail Edition, a nod to the brand's off-road spirit.
The rest of the 2024 Mitsubishi product line returns as carryover models with minor updates. For 2024, every Mitsubishi model will include two years of limited maintenance at no charge.
Here's a closer look at the 2024 Mitsubishi model lineup.
The Eclipse Cross is a carryover model for 2024. Minor enhancements include a newly added hands-free electronic liftgate with a kick-motion sensor as standard on the SE and SEL trim levels. Also, adaptive cruise control, a rear USB port, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel are now standard equipment on the SE. On the connectivity front, subscription-based Mitsubishi Connect with a two-year trial and Fast-Key entry system is now standard on the LE.
For the 2023 model year, Mitsubishi outfitted every Eclipse Cross with its motorsport-derived Super All-wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel-drive system as standard equipment. Expect Mitsubishi to announce a special-edition Eclipse Cross featuring rugged off-road-inspired styling enhancements later this year.
The carryover Mirage family will continue to offer impressive fuel efficiency, versatility, and value in a compact package. For 2024, LE trims of the Mirage and Mirage G4 will feature a driver seat armrest, automatic headlights, and rain-sensing wipers as standard equipment. Graphite Gray and Jet Black are two new colors, replacing Mercury Gray and Mystic Black. As before, the Mirage, a hatchback, will offer a Ralliart special-edition trim, while the Mirage G4, a sedan, will not.
Two years after a complete redesign, the Outlander compact SUV model range expands beyond the current ES, SE, SE, and SEL Black Edition, Ralliart, and SEL trims. The Outlander now offers a Platinum Edition with special Black Diamond paint and Alloy Silver roof color combination. Other design elements include a Light Grey interior, a Satin hood emblem, and silver gauge trim for a more premium appearance.
The Outlander will continue to offer the popular Black Edition for 2024. This package is available on either the SE or SEL trim, but the SEL Black Edition gets an extra bump in black-out upgrades, including all equipment offered with the Outlander SE Black Edition plus all-new black semi-aniline premium leather-appointed seating surfaces, a black dynamic shield, black chrome window trim, and black roof rails for a more menacing presence.
Mitsubishi's groundbreaking plug-in hybrid SUV, redesigned for the 2023 model year, will return in 2024 mostly unchanged. It continues to offer a 20-kWh drive battery, S-AWC twin-motor 4WD system, 38 miles of all-electric driving range, and 420 miles of overall driving range.
Like the conventionally powered Outlander, the Outlander PHEV will add an all-new Platinum Edition featuring a special Black Diamond paint with an Alloy Silver roof color combination for 2024. Also like the Outlander, the PHEV will offer an upgraded SEL Black Edition with newly added black semi-aniline premium leather-appointed seating surfaces, a black dynamic shield, black chrome window trim, and black roof rails.
For 2024, the Outlander Sport is a carryover but retains its adventurous spirit. It adds a unique Trail Edition to take on the outdoors, featuring black hood graphics, black side and fender moldings, black hood protector and tailgate trim, black inner door handle protectors, mud flaps, and all-weather floor mats. Lastly, for 2024, Mitsubishi rebadges the GT trim as the SEL.
