Despite its heritage as an Italian performance brand, Maserati is electrifying its lineup. Unfortunately for diehard fans, that means the end of the automaker’s V8 powertrains in favor of lower-emissions 6-cylinder and electric options. The V8’s demise is the most notable change for most Maserati models in 2024, though there are a few other updates worth discussing.

Maserati is discontinuing the Ghibli’s V8 powertrain option after 2024 and is releasing a limited Trofeo 334 Ultima variant to send it off in style. It gets a unique blue paint color, a 572-horsepower V8 engine, carbon fiber exterior accents, and special badging. Many expect 2024 to be the Ghibli’s final year, but Maserati has not confirmed that move.
The GranTurismo is all-new for 2024. It brings a new electric model and retains its long-running convertible and coupe body style offerings. The gas models come with all-wheel drive and a detuned version of the Maserati MC20’s twin-turbocharged V6. The base model makes 483 hp, while the top Trofeo trim sees 542 hp. The electric GranTurismo Folgore sees 750 hp from a trio of electric motors. Top configurations of the GranTurismo deliver scorching performance, with a claimed 3.5-second zero-to-60-mph time.
Maserati introduced the Grecale as a new model for the 2023 model year, so changes rolling into 2024 are minimal. It gets a new steering wheel design and is available with Maserati’s new Fuoriserie Personalization Program, which opens the door to more paint colors and wheel options. Industry observers expect the 2024 model year to bring the new Grecale Folgore, an electrified version of the SUV, to the market. Maserati hasn’t outlined complete specs for the Folgore, but you can expect a robust driving range and power output.
Like the changes it made to the Ghibli, Maserati is discontinuing the Levante’s V8 option for 2024. It’s getting a Trofeo Ultima trim as a sendoff. It brings exclusive wheels, fancy interior accents, painted brake calipers, and an interior plaque to commemorate the final-edition model.
Maserati is offering its Fuoriserie Essentials program for the MC20 in 2024, which brings a range of unique color and styling options. The list includes vintage-inspired color schemes and styling elements inspired by international soccer star David Beckham. Cars equipped with the package get a commemorative interior plaque; all versions carry over mechanically unchanged.
Auto industry experts expect Maserati to overhaul the 4-door Quattroporte in 2025 and cut the V8 option for 2024. The car rolls into the 2024 model year with a twin-turbo V6 making 424 hp, and the available Modena Ultima trim brings 21-inch wheels with red accents inside and out.
Maserati is the source of information in this article. It was accurate on October 26, 2023, but it may have changed since that date. Always confirm product details and availability with the automaker’s website or your local dealership.
