The Genesis portfolio of luxury sedans and crossover SUVs continues to expand each model year. For 2023, the Korean brand debuts its first dedicated electric-vehicle (EV) model—the GV60. This premium electric SUV is the first significant step for Genesis into electrification. Also on the electrified front, the returning G80 sedan and GV70 crossover each receive an all-electric iteration for those customers desiring a luxury-level driving experience combined with sustainable mobility.

In the non-electric arena, the Genesis G90 flagship sedan undergoes a complete redesign, inside and out. At the same time, the other gas-powered Genesis models receive a handful of minor but mindful enhancements to offer buyers more of what they're looking for in the premium tier. Here are the details, model by model.
For 2023, the Genesis G70 sedan is a carryover model with some noteworthy packaging changes. The previously named Prestige trim is now called the Sport Prestige. On the 2.0T model, new additions to the Sport Prestige package include 19-inch sport alloy wheels, a dark chrome grille, sport aluminum trim, ventilated seats, and alloy pedals. On 3.3T G70 sedans, the Sport Prestige trim adds a powered trunk. Elsewhere, all G70 sedans receive standard 19-inch wheels. Lastly, some new exterior colors join the paint pallet in 2023.
Two years after a complete redesign, the Genesis G80 sedan arrives in 2023 with a few minor changes. The multimedia controller on the center console gets an all-new convex design for a more modern look. On the packaging front, the 2.5T Sport Prestige trim receives a handful of new features, including 19-inch sport alloy wheels with all-season tires, a 12.3-inch 3D digital instrument cluster, Forward Attention Warning, Sport appearance with sport aluminum trim, alloy pedals, and Monobloc front brakes.
Perhaps the most significant addition to the G80 product range for 2023 is the new Genesis Electrified G80—an all-electric luxury sedan producing 365 horsepower and delivering 282 miles of range. Two electric motors—one at each axle—give this big 4-door EV its all-wheel-drive (AWD) attributes.
Genesis redesigns its G90 large luxury sedan for 2023. The car has an even grander presence than before, with a prominent grille, double headlight strips, and sleek body lines from stem to stern. Its long wheelbase and available 21-inch wheels give the G90 a stance and stature, befitting a true flagship.
Within, Genesis drenches the opulent cabin in leather and upscale amenities, including an onboard fragrance diffuser and an air purifier with a UV-sterilization chamber. For those who enjoy being chauffeured, the available VIP rear-seating package allows the second-row seat to lie almost completely flat.
Beyond its redesigned looks and feature enhancements, the G90 arrives for 2023 with remarkable power and performance. The base carryover engine is still a 3.5-liter V6 producing 375 hp. But there's now a 420-hp V6 with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that replaces the former gas-guzzling 5.0-liter V8.
The all-new GV60 crossover is Genesis' first dedicated EV model, marking the brand's journey towards electrification and sustainable mobility. This sleek electric SUV boasts an athletic coupe design that emphasizes its high-performance EV characteristics. The GV60 also comes with innovative technologies, such as the Crystal Sphere and Face Connect, to enable new ways for drivers to interact with their vehicles.
On the performance side, a dedicated EV platform that maximizes driving range and performance powers the GV60. All GV60s have a 77.4-kWh battery pack and dual electric motors for standard AWD. The entry-level Advanced trim level produces a respectable 314 hp, while the Performance trim dials up to 483 hp that Genesis says yields a zero-to-60-mph time of under 4 seconds. The EPA-estimated range for the Advanced trim is 248 miles—long enough to manage most weekend road trips or interstate jaunts.
The GV70 arrived for the 2022 model year as an all-new offering. It was Genesis' second SUV model following the introduction of the GV80. This compact luxury crossover returns for 2023 with a few minor exterior, interior, and packaging changes.
The Sport trim receives new black rear brake calipers to match those up front. Inside, the steering wheel buttons change from "boundless/touch type" to mechanical, and the SOS button is now red. New additions to the 2.5T AWD include Monobloc front brakes and a heated steering wheel (Select), Lexicon premium audio (Advanced), and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and three-zone climate control (Sport Prestige). The GV70 also changes some of its exterior paint colors.
For eco-conscious buyers, the GV70 now offers an all-electric variant. It delivers 283 miles of range, and Genesis says its battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes. In terms of performance, the electrified GV70 can get from zero-to-60 mph in a claimed 4.2 seconds.
The Genesis GV80 is mostly carryover for 2023. Minor interior changes include adding an oil-life sensor and a redesigned multimedia controller. On the packaging side, Genesis drops all GV80 2.5T RWD configurations. The 2.5T AWD Advanced trim also receives a panoramic sunroof and ventilated seats. The exterior color pallet has changed, too, with the introduction of three new colors.
