Model-year 2022 is primarily a carryover for the Honda lineup, but the few model updates are noteworthy. The ever-dependable Honda Civic is all-new, while popular crossovers such as the Passport and Pilot receive significant additions, including an all-new TrailSport trim.

Refreshed just last year, the Honda Accord is a carryover model for 2022. However, its hybrid lineup does experience a minor shakeup. A new Accord Hybrid Sport trim joins the family and replaces the outgoing EX.
The Honda Civic is all-new for 2022 and is available in sedan and hatchback form. The 11th-generation Civic Sedan and Civic Hatchback feature updated styling, revised powertrains, improved safety features, new infotainment screens, and a Civic-first all-digital LCD driver information display.
The sedan is available in LX, Sport, EX, and Touring trims, while the hatchback is offered in LX, Sport, EX-L, and Sport Touring versions. LX and Sport trims in the sedan and hatchback come with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. A turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-4 powers the Sedan EX and Touring trims as well as the Civic Hatchback’s EX-L and Sport Touring trims. Its output is 180 hp and 177 pound-feet. The 2022 Honda Civic Sedan is equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), while the hatchback is available with a 6-speed manual transmission or CVT.
The sport-tuned Civic Si sedan and high-performance Civic Type R hatchback also return to the lineup. The Si features a retuned 1.5-liter turbo-4 mated with a 6-speed stick shift. Its powertrain is rated at 200 hp and 192 pound-feet and features a new rev-matching system—the same one found in the Civic Type R. Honda will announce details on the next-generation Civic Type R at a later date.
The Honda CR-V is another carryover model for 2022. It continues to be available with either a gasoline or hybrid powertrain. For 2022, the gas-powered CR-V Touring is now equipped with standard all-wheel drive (AWD).
The smallest crossover in the lineup—the Honda HR-V—sees no changes for the 2022 model year. The drivetrain remains a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with a CVT. All trim levels (LX, Sport, EX, and EX-L) are available in front-wheel- and all-wheel-drive configurations.
Following a few notable updates for the 2021 model year, the Honda Insight is a carryover model for 2022 but drops the LX trim from its lineup. The hybrid sedan is now offered only in EX and Touring trims.
The Honda Odyssey received a mild refresh for 2021 and is mostly unchanged this year. One new detail is the addition of Radiant Red Metallic II to the minivan’s exterior paint color palette.
Receiving a mild refresh, the 2022 Honda Passport showcases rugged exterior design, adds more standard safety, and debuts the all-new TrailSport trim. The Passport’s new styling includes a completely redesigned front end and hood, while the rear features a redone bumper and larger twin exhausts. The Passport’s interior is unchanged save for new perforated leather seats with contrast stitching in the EX-L trim. Rear-seat reminder and rear seat belt reminder systems are now standard for the entire lineup.
The 2022 Honda Passport TrailSport is the automaker’s first from its new TrailSport sub-brand and is geared toward outdoor adventurers. Featuring trim-exclusive accouterments, including distinctive orange badging, the Passport TrailSport sits on 18-inch wheels, has its front and rear track width increased by 10 mm, and has AWD and a traction-management system as standard.
Not officially receiving a refresh, the Honda Pilot does receive a significant amount of updates for 2022 in the form of standard features, colors, and trim levels.
Added to the lineup are the Pilot Sport and Pilot TrailSport. The Sport is an entry-level model that gives the Pilot a base MSRP of $36,830 (excluding $1,225 destination). The Pilot TrailSport is a mid-level trim that starts at $43,560. Like the Passport version, the all-new Pilot TrailSport features an outdoorsy design, off-road-ready wheels and tires, AWD, plus an extra 0.6 inches of ground clearance.
Newly standard across the 2022 Honda Pilot lineup are LED headlights and an 8-inch infotainment display, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. For paint choices, Sonic Gray Pearl is new for 2022.
For 2022, the Honda Ridgeline adds Sonic Gray Pearl to its paint color selection. Otherwise, the AWD midsize pickup is unchanged for the new model year.
