Alfa Romeo updates its Tonale small SUV for 2026, featuring new bodywork that emphasizes Italian style, a redesigned driver-focused interior, a new trim level, and three new colors.
The premium Tonale crossover SUV advances the sporty Italian brand's entry into the market with a stylish design, advanced technologies, and a strong driving character to satisfy enthusiasts.

The 2026 Tonale has a new front fascia and grille, along with more aggressive lower air intakes. A shortened front overhang, from the front edge to the front wheels, combined with wider front and rear tracks, gives the new Tonale a sportier stance.
A new Sport Speciale edition now tops the 2026 Tonale lineup, featuring silver accents, distinctive lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels with three holes that echo the classic five-hole "phone dial" Alfa wheels, black Brembo brake calipers, and a contrasting black roof. Inside, the Sport Speciale has black and pearl perforated Alcantara seats with white stitching. At the same time, Alfa wraps the dashboard's front in black Alcantara.
The base Tonale Sprint now offers red or black leather interiors. At the same time, Rosso Brera, Verda Monza, and Giallo Ocra join the paint color options for 2026, alongside carry-over colors Alfa Black, Milano White, Grigio Ascari, Verda Fangio, and Misano Blue.
The Tonale Sprint features a gloss black body kit, 18-inch wheels, LED lighting, and fabric seats. Optional upgrades for the Sprint include leather seats, ambient lighting, gloss black window trim, ventilated seats, and a hands-free liftgate.
As the middle-trim version, the Tonale Veloce features larger 19-inch alloy wheels, red-painted Brembo brake calipers, a dual-mode suspension, standard perforated leather seats, seat ventilation, and aluminum shift paddles on the steering wheel.
Inside, all Tonale front seats feature eight-way power adjustment, four-way lumbar controls, heating and cooling, and contrasting stitching on the dashboard, door panels, and armrests.
A 268-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine pairs with a nine speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. An Alfa drive mode selector offers different powertrain and suspension setups. There is no hybrid or electric option.
All 2026 Tonale SUVs come standard with an integrated Uconnect 5 infotainment system, as well as advanced driver assistance systems including adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, traffic-sign recognition, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, forward-collision warning, and a driver monitoring system.

As an Alfa Romeo, the new 2026 Tonale promises a high level of driver involvement for the enthusiast buyer, competing against other subcompact luxury SUVs, such as the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz CLA, and the Volvo XC40.
