2008 Ford Ratings, Reviews and Awards

In 2008, Ford has opted largely to refresh (not remake) some of its top sellers. The Focus, due for an update in 2011, for now receives just a facelift. Ford has updated the interior and exterior lines for 2008, and nixed the wagon and hatchback in favor of the coupe. The Focus can get to 60 mph in 8.0 seconds thanks to a 2.0 L twin-cam four-cylinder that churns out 140 hp. Ford's Explorer was redesigned in 2006, so it gets just a few tweaks for 2008, including the new voice-activated infotainment system known as Sync. Developed in concert with Microsoft, Sync show up in at least a dozen new 2008 Ford models, not just the Explorer. The Escape, Ford's small SUV, gets a newer, more aggressive exterior as well as enhanced noise canceling features, but its 153 hp, 2.3 L engine remains the same, continuing on with 19-25 combined mpg.
