Ford Econoline Wagon Model Years and History

For 2014, an 8-passenger seating option is now available on some E-350 models, otherwise there are no significant changes for 2014.

Ahead of its replacement by the Transit in 2014, Ford's work-horse passenger van carries into 2013 with no changes.

Ford's work-horse passenger van carries into 2012 largely unchanged. The standard stereo gains an audio input jack. Last year's Magneti Marelli in-dash computer is not available for 2012.

For 2011, the Ford E-Series van celebrates its 50th year of production with a special fully loaded edition that comes with distinctive blue metallic paint and unique embroidery on the seats.

The Ford E-Series continues to focus on improving its technological capabilities to allow these vehicles to be both a work horses and a traveling office. To that extent, Ford added an E-250 trim, which adds another choice to the lineup. Ford Work Solutions is a new combinations of options designed especially for those who work out of their van. Work Solutions includes an in-dash computer, powered by Microsoft Auto, that provides full high-speed internet access and navigation, and is available with a wireless mouse and printer. Tool Link, a radio-frequency identification tracking system developed with Dewalt, enables customers to maintain a detailed real-time inventory of the tools or equipment stored in the vehicle. Crew Chief, a fleet telematics and diagnostics system, allows small fleet owners to manage their vehicles, dispatch workers to job sites and keep detailed vehicle maintenance records. A navigation system with a 6.5 inch screen and SIRIUS Travel Link for traffic, weather and traveler's information is also available.

For 2009 the Ford Econoline vamps up its technological capability with a completely re-designed instrument panel with optional integrated navigation and Sirius Travel Link. Also available for 2009 is Ford Work Solutions, which is a computer system that allows users to manage vehicle fleets, keep track of tools and stay connected from the front seat of their van. The 2009 Econoline also speaks to the ever-increasing demand for environmental friendliness by adding E85 flex fuel capability.

The full-size Ford Econoline van gets a number of minor changes for 2008 including a new grille, front marker and turn lamps, bumpers, fascias, and headlamps. In addition, a tire pressure monitoring system is now standard, as is a new brake system and improved steering. A 6.0L diesel engine is newly available on the E-150s, and the Chateau variant has been discontinued.

The full-size Ford Econoline vans get a number of minor equipment upgrades for 2007. An oil cooler is now standard on all models, and E-150 models get a larger rear stabilizer bar and larger-diameter aluminum driveshaft to increase load capacity. On E-350 Wagons with the 5.4L V8, roll stability control is now standard. A reverse sensing system is now available on Van and Wagon models, and a more powerful alternator is optional on 5.4L and 6.8L models. Three new colors join the palette: Forest Green, Pueblo Gold, and Dark Blue Pearl.
