Toyota Reveals First-Ever 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid

Dustin Hawley | Jun 05, 2022

This week, Toyota announced it is expanding the Corolla Cross family, adding increased performance and efficiency to an already very-capable package. Based on the automaker’s popular Corolla sedan, the all-new 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid made its U.S. debut this week, delivering even more options for compact SUV enthusiasts.

Available exclusively with all-wheel drive (AWD), the Corolla Cross Hybrid is available exclusively with all-wheel drive, further maximizing the potential of the company’s high-strength TNGA-C platform. Utilizing the TNGA-C, the Corolla Cross Hybrid achieves high-quality performance to pair with its comfortable ride and impressive interior space.

The all-new Corolla Cross Hybrid offers increased power and fuel economy, boasting 194 horsepower with an impressive manufacturer-estimated 37 combined miles per gallon for all grades, including three new trims: S, SE, and XSE, as well as the LE and XLE grades Toyota customers are familiar with.

Standard on the S and SE grades are 17-inch Alloy wheels, sport-tuned suspension, an 8-inch touchscreen, LED headlights and tail lamps, and smart key access. The SE grade offers privacy glass, roof rails, and paddle shifters while also including Blind-Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) standard.

The Corolla Cross Hybrid’s sportiest offering, the XSE grade, includes all the features of the SE while adding standard 18-inch Alloy wheels, premium LED taillamps, headlights, and fog lamps, Softex-trimmed seats with a power driver’s seat and heated front seats.

Exterior color options for SE and XSE grades will be available in four two-tone combinations: Barcelona Red/ Black Roof, Sonic Silver/ Black Roof, Blue Crush Metallic/ Black Roof, and an all-new color, Acidic Blast/ Black Roof.

The Corolla Cross Hybrid will also be available in the following colors:

  • Wind Chill Pearl ($425 extra-color cost)
  • Sonic Silver Metallic
  • Cypress

The Corolla Cross’ spacious interior offers many of the same features as its hatchback and sedan versions. Higher-end models can be equipped with a power moonroof, including either single or dual-zone automatic climate control. All Corolla Cross grades also feature standard heating and air conditioning vents for rear-seat passengers.
