Mazda started its announcements for the 2024 model year by unveiling its Mazda3 updates. Known for its exceptional driving dynamics and elegant design, this versatile compact car is available as either a sedan or a hatchback. Dealerships will welcome the hatchback models this summer, while the sedan models will follow in the fall.
The 2024 Mazda3 2.5 S models come standard with the naturally-aspirated Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter engine. This powertrain runs smoothly on regular and premium fuel and produces 191 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a six-speed automatic transmission that offers a manual shift mode, this powertrain offers a pleasing balance of performance and economy. Additional standard features include front-wheel drive (FWD), cylinder-deactivation technology, and G-Vectoring Control Plus. Mazda offers the 2024 Mazda3 in a plethora of configurations.
The Mazda3 2.5 S, exclusively available in the sedan model, equips a multitude of standard i-Activsense safety features. They include Mazda Radar Cruise Control with stop and go function, Smart Brake Support, Lane Departure Warning, Lane-Keep Assist, Driver Attention Alert, and High Beam Control. In a new addition for 2024, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Rear Door Alert have also been included as standard features. Mazda Connected Services is complimentary for three years and allows owners to remotely monitor the vehicle via the MyMazda app, which also includes a three-month or 2GB trial of the in-car Wi-Fi hotspot, whichever is exhausted first.
Inside the cabin, an 8.8-inch center display equipped with the latest Mazda Connect infotainment system takes center stage and can be operated using the multi-function Commander knob. Other standard amenities include push-button start, remote keyless illuminated entry, a rearview camera, two front USB-C inputs, Bluetooth connectivity, a six-speaker sound system, electronic parking brake, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and black cloth seats. The exterior boasts LED lighting for the automatic headlights, combination taillights, and daytime running lights, accompanied by a matte finish front grille and silver-finished 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels.
Expanding on the standard model, the newly introduced 2024 Mazda3 2.5 S Select Sport has enhanced features such as Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear armrest with cup holders, and door mirror turn signals. Visual enhancements include black leatherette seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and 18-inch black-finished aluminum alloy wheels paired with black heated mirrors.
The Mazda3 2.5 S Preferred package adds features like a power moonroof, optional black or greige leatherette seats, heated front seats, eight-way power driver seats with power lumbar support, and seat memory. This package distinguishes itself with body-colored side mirrors featuring LED turn signal indicators. Sedan models come with silver-finished 18-inch wheels, while hatchback models opt for a gray metallic finish.

For the 2024 model year, Mazda3 Carbon Edition models now come standard with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto connectivity, and Qi wireless phone charging. The Carbon Edition, available as a sedan or hatchback, is standardly equipped with i-Activ all-wheel drive (AWD) to enhance performance. This exclusive model is offered in Polymetal Gray exterior paint and red leather. It shares many features with the Preferred package, including black-finished 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels and gloss black-heated door mirrors.
Exclusively for 2024 Mazda3 hatchback models, the 2.5 S Premium package shines with standard front-wheel drive (FWD) and an optional Skyactiv-MT six-speed manual transmission. This package comes generously packed with features such as a Bose 12-speaker premium audio system with aluminum speaker grilles, SiriusXM satellite radio with a complimentary three-month trial, windshield-projected full-color Active Driving Display, Mazda Navigation System, paddle shifters (for automatic transmission only), and Adaptive Front-lighting System. Additional unique exterior design elements include a shark fin antenna, LED signature illumination headlights and taillights, and 18-inch black-finished aluminum alloy wheels. Leather seats are available in black or red.
Bearing the moniker of the all-new Mazda3 2.5 Carbon Turbo, this model continues the success of the Carbon Edition line-up by combining turbocharged performance and bespoke styling. These models cater to driving enthusiasts searching for a modern hatchback or sedan with refined performance. The Skyactiv-G 2.5 Turbo engine powers all Mazda3 Turbo models, delivering 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque with premium 93 octane fuel. With regular 87-octane fuel, the engine still impressively puts out 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and standard i-Activ AWD.
The special package of the Mazda3 2.5 Carbon Turbo boasts a Zircon Sand Metallic finish, 18-inch black metallic finish wheels, and gloss black door mirrors. Unique exterior styling elements harmonize with a black interior that features exclusive terracotta leatherette and bold red contrast stitching. Furthermore, all Mazda3 Turbo models now feature a larger 10.25-inch infotainment display that adds touchscreen functionality when connected to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Both systems now offer wireless connectivity, and the addition of Qi wireless phone charging further adds to the convenience.
The pinnacle of the range, the Mazda3 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus, heightens the sophisticated styling with gloss black aerodynamic accents for both the sedan and the hatchback. The sedan includes a rear lip spoiler, while hatchback models have a rear roof spoiler and front air dam. Safety is taken to the next level with the addition of Rear Direction Base Safety, which includes Smart Brake Support-Reverse and Smart Brake Support-Rear Crossing, completing the full i-Activsense suite of safety features. Leather seats are available in black or red for the hatchback and black or white for the sedan. The interior also includes a Bose 12-speaker premium audio system. Additional upgrades include Traffic Jam Assist, 360° View Monitor with front and rear parking sensors, Homelink added to the frameless auto-dim rearview mirror, Mazda Navigation System, and an Active Driving Display with Traffic Sign Recognition.
With a broad range of options, the 2024 Mazda3 offers something for every compact car shopper, whether it’s sporty performance, distinctive styling, or high-tech convenience features. With this new model year line-up, Mazda continues to showcase its commitment to delivering vehicles that offer a refined driving experience and sophisticated design.
