While there aren’t significant changes to any of the brand’s models for 2024, Land Rover has several power upgrades, new special editions, and trim levels for various models to keep their offerings ever more enticing. Many models now feature a curved 11.4-inch touchscreen to interact with Land Rover’s Pivi Pro infotainment system. Rather than stay under the Land Rover umbrella, the British luxury SUV maker intends to break out its various brands with Defender, Discovery, and Range Rover product lines, simplifying Land Rover’s antiquated naming convention.

Here are all the changes to the 2024 Land Rover SUV models.
Land Rover’s rough-yet-refined Defender comes in three variants: the short-wheelbase, 2-door Defender 90; the medium-length 4-door, 2-row Defender 110; and the long-wheelbase, 3-row Defender 130. For all three flavors, a 518-hp, supercharged V8 is available. A new Outbound trim level debuts for the Defender 130, wherein Land Rover deletes the third row and replaces it with extra cargo room. There’s also a new County Exterior package for the Defender 110 with new wheels, two-tone paint, and some distinctive trim pieces.
The Land Rover Discovery is a carryover for the 2024 model year. It continues to offer a choice of two engines: a 296-hp turbocharged 4-cylinder or a 355-hp turbo 6-cylinder. It comes in four trim levels: Discovery S, R-Dynamic, R-Dynamic HSE, and the top-of-the-line Metropolitan Edition.
Land Rover pares down the trim level offering of the compact Discovery Sport to just the Core S and Dynamic SE. A sprinkling of other changes are in store; chief among them is the new 11.4-inch touchscreen that manages the infotainment system. The center console gets a refresh, too, with new features like USB-C ports and a wireless charging pad. An available air purifier and active noise cancellation system, along with a non-leather upholstery choice, round out the changes for the Discovery Sport, whose 246-hp turbo 4-cylinder engine creates motivation for the standard all-wheel-drive system.
Land Rover’s flagship Range Rover SUV gets a host of changes to its powertrain choices for 2024. The plug-in hybrid version, previously known as the P440e, is now called the P550e. It cranks out 542 hp and has an electric-only range of 51 miles.
Meanwhile, the regular top-level SV now gets a V8, called the P615, that makes 606 hp. But if that’s not distinctive enough, the Carmel Edition makes its debut, of which Land Rover made only seven units. However, those who missed out can utilize the new SV Bespoke service to customize their refined SUV further with distinctive colors, interior materials, and trim pieces.
For 2024, Land Rover streamlines the trim levels of the small and stylish Range Rover Evoque. The automaker only leaves the S and Dynamic SE, dropping the R-Dynamic S, SE, and R-Dynamic HST. The mild-hybrid engine is also gone for 2024, leaving the 246-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine as the only powertrain choice.
Also new for 2024, Land Rover slightly changes the styling of the front grille and headlights and debuts three new colors. Meanwhile, the interior benefits from a restructured center console that features a curved 11.4-inch touchscreen to manage the infotainment system.
For 2024, Land Rover gives the Range Rover Sport a new hybrid engine to replace 2023’s P440e. Dubbed the P550e, it now makes 542 horsepower and has a 51-mile all-electric range. Also gone is the P530; in its place is the all-new, top-tier 626-hp Range Rover Sport SV, which boasts a special equipment suspension for performance at speed and wheels composed of carbon fiber. It also comes with carbon ceramic brakes. The other change for 2024 pertains to the infotainment, whose interface Land Rover modifies for what it says is greater ease of use.
The Range Rover Velar benefits from a slight styling update with revised front and rear fascias. Inside the cabin, you’ll find a new curved 11.4-inch touchscreen for interacting with the infotainment system. A new fabric upholstery, active noise-cancellation system, and available air purifier round out the changes for the 2024 Range Rover Velar. The SUV offers a choice of four trim levels: P250 S and P250 Dynamic SE, which come with a 247-hp, turbo 2.0-liter engine, and the P400 Dynamic SE and P400 Dynamic HSE, motivated by a 395-hp, turbo mild-hybrid inline-6 engine.
