Changes to the 2024 Hyundai Models

Liz Kim | Feb 08, 2024

Hyundai introduces its latest generation of the Kona and Santa Fe SUVs. At the same time, its Elantra and Sonata sedans receive significant refreshes for the 2024 model year. Other Hyundai models are similar to their 2023 counterparts, with only minor changes in equipment packages. Below, you’ll find all the changes to the 2024 Hyundai models.

2024 Hyundai Elantra Changes - Find the best Hyundai Elantra deals!

Hyundai’s compact sedan gets a noticeable makeover for 2024, with fresh front and rear styling and new wheel choices. Inside, you’ll note the upgraded materials, new USB-C outlets, a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 6-speaker audio system across the lineup. Hyundai also enhanced the Elantra’s safety with rear side-curtain airbags and haptic feedback for the steering wheel when safety systems are activated. Hyundai makes tweaks for a more athletic driving experience for the performance-oriented Elantra N.

Powertrain choices remain the same as in 2023, with three gas-only and one hybrid engine. Trim levels for the non-hybrid Elantra include SE, SEL, Limited, N Line, and N. The Elantra Hybrid comes in Blue and Limited trims.

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Changes - Find the best Hyundai Ioniq 5 deals!

Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 small crossover electric vehicle (EV) gets some new equipment for 2024, including a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot and a rearview camera mirror. You’ll also find some new safety equipment like side airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners for the rear outboard seats. Additionally, drivers get haptic feedback through the steering wheel for lane-keeping assistance and blind-spot warning.

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 Changes - Find the best Hyundai Ioniq 6 deals!

Hyundai’s smaller EV, the Ioniq 6, of which specific versions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), can travel more than 361 miles on a full charge, came to market in 2023. Alas, there are no changes for the 2024 model year.

2024 Hyundai Kona Changes - Find the best Hyundai Kona deals!

For the 2024 model year, Hyundai introduces the second-generation Kona. The subcompact SUV sports stretched and pulled dimensions, a brand-new look, and a more spacious cabin. It also boasts the latest infotainment and safety technology, with a 12.3-inch touchscreen front and center of the dashboard.

Pop the hood and you’ll find familiar power plants, with a carryover 147-horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder and a 190-hp turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine, with your choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive (AWD). And there’s still the Kona EV option that gives you two battery systems (the EPA did not finalize the driving range at the time of this writing) and additional storage, thanks to the front trunk.

2024 Hyundai Nexo Changes - Find the best Hyundai Nexo deals!

Hyundai’s Nexo hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle is sold only in California. For 2024, it receives minor upgrades for the HVAC system and a switch to USB Type-C charging ports for the front and rear.

2024 Hyundai Palisade Changes - Find the best Hyundai Palisade deals!

Hyundai’s popular 3-row SUV, the Palisade, boasts a new Calligraphy Night Edition with darkened wheels, black chrome trim front and rear, and gloomy fittings in the cabin. You’ll also find improvements to the climate control system for all Palisades, rear side window shades for the XRT trim level, and ambient lighting for the Limited trim level.

2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz Changes - Find the best Hyundai Santa Cruz deals!

Hyundai’s quirky pickup truck, the Santa Cruz, receives a new trim level. The Santa Cruz XRT replaces the SEL Premium and builds on what is essentially the SEL with Activity package with the 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with AWD. It adds black upholstery, darkened interior and exterior trim, and special badging with bed rails and side steps.

Other changes for the 2024 Santa Cruz include bi-LED projector headlights, steering wheel haptic feedback for lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot warning that is now on the standard features list, and other minor adjustments to various trim levels.

2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Changes - Find the best Hyundai Santa Fe deals!

Hyundai’s midsize Santa Fe enters its fifth generation with a 3-row SUV that’s bigger in almost every way than the 2023 version. Its beefy, blocky design is a departure that complements its longer wheelbase. Inside the cabin, you’ll find dual 12.3-inch screens containing displays for gauges and the infotainment system.

Hyundai touts class-exclusive features like leg rests for the front passenger seat and a Bilateral Multi-Console accessible to the front and second-row passengers. And, of course, Hyundai will outfit the new SUV with the latest safety and infotainment technologies, all updateable by over-the-air software.

At launch, Hyundai will equip the 2024 Santa Fe with a 277-hp, turbocharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder or a hybrid engine consisting of a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder gas engine and an electric motor that combine to make 226 total horsepower with standard AWD.

2024 Hyundai Sonata Changes - Find the best Hyundai Sonata deals!

Hyundai’s Sonata midsize sedan dons spiffy new sheet metal for 2024, and you can’t miss the arresting designs for the rear and, especially, the front fascia. In the cabin, two 12.3-inch screens dominate the dashboard—one that houses the gauge cluster and another for the infotainment system with a head-up display. Hyundai redesigned the entire center stack to highlight the new technologies.

Powertrains in the revamped Sonata remain the same as the 2023 models: two different 2.5-liter 4-cylinders and a turbocharged 290-hp 4-cylinder for the athletically inclined N Line. A new AWD option is available for vehicles with the base 2.5-liter engine.

2024 Hyundai Tucson Changes - Find the best Hyundai Tucson deals!

The 2024 model year sees small changes for Hyundai’s compact Tucson SUV. The most significant change is that a hybrid engine now powers the N Line, combining a turbocharged 1.6-liter gas engine with an electric motor for a total output of 226 hp.

Other changes include seat belt pre-tensioners, side airbags for the rear outboard seats, and a steering wheel that buzzes when the lane-keeping assistance and blind-spot avoidance assist features are activated. A 10.25-inch touchscreen is now standard for all Tucson Hybrid models, Tucson SEL Convenience, and above trim levels.

2024 Hyundai Venue Changes - Find the best Hyundai Venue deals!

The only changes for Hyundai’s Venue subcompact crossover are new USB charging ports for the second row, keyless entry with push-button start for the SEL, and a 6-speaker audio system for the SE trim level.
