For 2023, Dodge bids farewell to two of its iconic muscle cars—the Charger and Challenger. The domestic performance car brand is issuing a series of “Last Call” special-edition models to commemorate the end of an era. Like many other carmakers, Dodge is electrifying its lineup, starting with the all-new Hornet subcompact crossover, which has a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant. Dodge also recently introduced the Charger Daytona SRT Concept—an all-electric muscle car and the likely successor to the gas-powered Charger. Alas, for one last year, you can revel in gas-spewing glory with massive V8s that churn out more than 800 horsepower.

A legion of muscle car fans waves goodbye to the Dodge Challenger, as 2023 will be its final year of production. Dodge will mount a “Last Call” plaque under the hood of every unit, and the automaker will produce several special-edition Challengers, including the Scat Pack Swinger, Shakedown, Black Ghost, and Model Set Back. The 2023 model year will also see the debut of the Jailbreak customization package for Hellcat models (and not just the Redeye), along with heritage hues like Plum Crazy and B5 Blue. Buyers can outfit the Challenger coupe with a range of power plant options, from the base 303-hp 3.6-liter V6 to the ludicrous 807-hp 6.2-liter V8 Hemi.
Like the 2-door Challenger, 2023 is the final model year for the 4-door Dodge Charger sedan. And, like the Challenger, Dodge will adorn each with a plaque mounted under the hood that reads “Last Call.” Dodge will also release special-edition models of the Charger to commemorate the last year of production, including the Shakedown, Super Bee, Scat Pack Swinger, and King Daytona. The Charger is a full-size sedan with a bevy of powertrain choices ranging from a comparatively tame 300-hp 3.6-liter V6 to the insane 807-hp, supercharged 6.2-liter V8-motivated Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak. For 2023, you’ll see the Jailbreak interior and exterior customization option for other Hellcat models. You’ll also see the return of Heritage colors—including Plum Crazy and B5 Blue—to the exterior paint palette.
While the current Durango midsize 3-row SUV has been around since 2011, Dodge keeps it fresh with new special editions. For 2023, Dodge brings back the popular SRT Hellcat, which it previously only sold for 2021. This monster has a 710-hp V8 that Dodge says can accelerate the Durango from a standstill to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. Otherwise, no changes are in store for the 2023 Durango, which still offers five trim levels and three additional engine choices: a 295-hp 3.6-liter V6 for the SXT and GT, a 360-hp 5.7-liter V8 for the R/T and Citadel, and a 475-hp 6.4-liter V8 for the SRT.
Dodge introduces its first all-new model in more than a decade in the form of the Hornet. A small SUV that shares its platform with the Alfa Romeo Tonale, the Hornet takes aim at the subcompact crossover market with a choice of two power plants. The first is a 268-hp turbocharged 4-cylinder for the Hornet GT. More importantly, Dodge’s first PHEV entrant, the Hornet R/T, makes 288 hp and delivers 30 miles of all-electric range. Both provide standard all-wheel drive. Like other current Stellantis models, the Hornet boasts a comprehensive list of safety and infotainment technology features.
