One of Lexus's most popular models, the NX crossover SUV is also one of the most affordable in the company’s lineup. The 2027 Lexus NX transitions to hybrid-only powertrains and a simplified four-trim-level strategy. The compact crossover SUV also gets revised styling, more standard equipment, new safety technology, and improved ride and handling.
Lexus says the refreshed 2027 NX 350h and NX 450h+ will go on sale by the end of 2026. The company will announce prices and more details closer to the model’s arrival in dealer showrooms.

When the 2027 Lexus NX crossover SUV goes on sale, you will be able to choose between the NX 350h and NX 450h+. The NX 350h is a traditional hybrid, while the NX 450h+ is a plug-in hybrid. Each will be available in Premium, Premium+, F Sport, and Luxury trims.
Both NX models have next-generation hybrid technology designed to improve refinement and drivability. At the same time, the NX 450h+ now offers an estimated 40 miles of electric-only range and DC fast-charging capability.
To further enhance its driving character, Lexus increased the NX’s body rigidity and revised the suspension for improved comfort while still ensuring a sporty, communicative feel. Steering changes also make the NX more maneuverable, according to Lexus. The automaker also revised the NX’s throttle response and braking systems for a smoother and more satisfying driving experience.

Design-wise, the new NX looks a little different, mainly in the front styling, which takes on a more technical look. Inside, the differences are more dramatic, with a cleaner dashboard, revised center console, a new steering wheel with improved controls, updated digital instrumentation, and a larger standard 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Lexus also offers a new Sensory Concierge option with the F Sport and Luxury trims. It uses illumination, audio, the climate control system, and a fragrance system to personalize the interior ambiance based on one of three themes: Inspire, Radiance, or Revitalize. Three fragrances are available, called Hanya (musk), Seiyo (floral), and Shinmei (citrus).
The Lexus Interface infotainment system features the latest version of the technology, with what the automaker says is faster response to inputs, an improved user experience including split-screen data panel viewing capability, and greater owner personalization. A drive recorder is now also standard.
Lexus Safety System+ 4.0 (LSS+ 4.0) is standard in all 2027 NX SUVs and includes a wide range of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Traffic jam assist, available with an active Drive Connect subscription, provides hands-free driving at low speeds on limited-access highways.

Blending hybrid fuel economy with Lexus dependability, the refreshed 2027 NX 350h and NX 450h+ sharpen focus on what matters to many compact luxury crossover SUV buyers. Add the NX’s redesigned interior and new technology, and it should continue to be one of the automaker’s best-selling models.
However, the NX faces several formidable rivals in the electrified part of this competitive segment.
For the 2027 model year, the updated Lincoln Corsair offers a standard turbocharged hybrid powertrain with 305 horsepower and standard all-wheel drive. The most affordable trim of the NX 350h is front-wheel drive. Acura is also planning a next-generation RDX with a sophisticated two-motor hybrid drivetrain, likely to arrive for the 2028 model year.
Rivals to the NX 450h+ include a 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e plug-in hybrid and Volvo's refreshed 2028 XC60 plug-in hybrid with an estimated 78 miles of electric-only range before switching to gas-electric propulsion, nearly doubling the NX 450h+ model’s range.
