Earlier this year, Porsche’s first electric vehicle (EV), the Taycan, underwent a significant refresh to maintain its competitiveness among luxury EVs. The automaker revealed updates for the standard 4S, Turbo, and Turbo S models. Now, Porsche adds the 2025 Taycan GTS, boasting up to 690 horsepower, to the lineup along with a base model Taycan 4.

The 2025 Taycan GTS is available in sedan and Sport Turismo wagon body styles. It’s the most luxury-focused model, surpassing the Taycan 4S, Turbo, and Turbo S, all of which come in sedan or wagon options. In addition to adding the GTS to the lineup, Porsche introduced a new base model—the Taycan 4—with all-wheel drive (AWD), up to 429 hp, and a starting price of $105,295, including the $1,995 destination charge. Porsche says the new models, including the $149,895 Taycan GTS, will arrive early in 2025.

In creating the new GTS, Porsche updated the Taycan’s design with a sleeker appearance, especially on the front end and the horizontal light bar in the rear. As with other GTS variants in Porsche’s lineup, the automaker distinguishes the Taycan GTS by incorporating black and dark grey trim details and outfits the car with 20- or 21-inch wheels. The Taycan 4 has 19-inch aero wheels for more efficiency.

Inside, Taycan GTS models have standard adaptive sport seats with Race-Tex upholstery paired with smooth black leather. Porsche customers have seemingly endless customization options, especially on GTS variants. The Taycan GTS offers both Carmine Red and Slate Grey Neo interior packages, and a Bose surround-sound audio system is standard.

Porsche claims the new Taycan is more efficient, has a longer range, and offers quicker charging than the 2024 model. A new rear-axle electric motor provides more power and gets juice from an enhanced battery pack, which has better cooling from a new heat pump. Porsche says the Taycan can accept charging rates up to 400 kilowatts when hooked to a DC fast charger.
According to Porsche, the Taycan GTS can produce up to 690 hp and reach 60 mph in 3.1 seconds when using launch control. Drivers can also activate an additional power boost of 93 hp for up to 10 seconds by pressing a button on the steering wheel. Porsche also says it gave the GTS unique propulsion sounds pumped into the cabin.
Porsche’s air springs, adaptive suspension dampers, and torque-vectoring system are all standard equipment on the GTS. Customers can enhance handling characteristics with rear-axle steering and Porsche’s active dampers with a specific GTS model tune.

Porsche added a few new features to the 2025 Taycan infotainment system, including improved Apple CarPlay integration and the ability to stream videos for passengers. The Porsche Driver Experience consists of a digital gauge panel, a large center touchscreen, and an available display for the front-seat passenger.

While the Lucid Air Sapphire and Tesla Model S Plaid boast superior performance among electric sedans, neither provides a wagon option like the Taycan. Although the Audi E-tron GT shares the same vehicle platform as the Taycan, it is exclusively a sedan. If luxury is your priority, don’t miss the opulent cabin of the Mercedes-AMG EQS.
