Dodge Announces New Appearance Packages for 2022 Models

Chris Teague | Oct 28, 2021

The Dodge Challenger and Charger are among the most exciting American cars today, but that hasn’t come without significant effort. Neither model has seen a complete refresh in a decade or more, but Dodge has continually injected new and more powerful engines, new tech, and upscale options to keep them fresh. For the 2022 model year, buyers can spruce up their 2022 Charger or Challenger with two new appearance packages that bring various exterior and interior styling upgrades but no changes to powertrains or output.

The Hemi Orange package is available for GT RWD and Scat Pack Widebody cars as a throwback to the Hemi-powered vehicles of decades past, where early versions of the engine got a coat of “HEMI Orange.” The package brings that legendary color back to the future with unique exterior trim, such as orange Brembo brake calipers and orange outlines on the grey-metallic grille and fender badges.

Inside, the cars get orange stitching throughout and blacked-out trim around various interior features. The Scat Pack Widebody picks up an orange-and-black “392” badge on the gauge cluster.

Pricing for the package varies between trim levels. Scat Pack Widebody buyers will need to shell out $1,500 for the package. When added to the GT RWD, the package costs $2,995 and includes a Performance Handling package, bringing larger wheels and upgraded Brembo brakes. Dodge notes that it will also offer the package for the 2022 Durango R/T starting in early 2022.

The SRT Black package is available for SRT Hellcat and Hellcat Redeye versions of both cars and brings grey metallic badging on the grille, fender, and spoiler to the muscled-up sedan and coupe. The Charger SRT with Black package gets black nickel exhaust tips, which are standard for the Challenger. Dodge offers this package for the Durango SRT 392 SUV as well.

Dodge will begin offering the Hemi Orange and SRT Black packages in the fourth quarter of 2021 for 2022 model-year cars. Buyers can add the options when ordering through a dealership or when configuring a car online.
