Buick has unveiled the 2024 Envista, a groundbreaking addition to the small SUV segment that redefines the concept of a premium vehicle. Combining the cargo space and utility of an SUV with the sleek, sporty proportions of a sedan, the Envista is poised to disrupt the market.
Duncan Aldred, Global Vice President of Buick-GMC, stated, "Buick helped define the small SUV segment in 2012, and we've continued to make our offerings even more competitive since. The all-new Envista is going to shake up that segment once again." He added that the Envista's stunning design, standard technology, and premium affordability make it a strong contender in its class.

Priced from $23,495, the Envista aims to attract sedan owners, young professionals, and small families to Buick's lineup. The model will be available in three distinct trims: Preferred, Sport Touring (ST), and Avenir, broadening the appeal of Buick's luxurious Avenir sub-brand.
The 2024 Envista is the first vehicle to embody Buick's modern design language fully, initially showcased in the Wildcat EV concept. This new design incorporates a low-profile silhouette, a forward-leaning nose, and a repositioned Buick emblem above a sleek, intricate grille. The vehicle's sculptural beauty is evident in its powerful fender forms and fluid waistline, while bright trim around the glass enhances its expressiveness.
Executive Director of Global Buick-GMC Design Sharon Gauci said, "The Envista represents a pure expression of Buick design. With its unique proportions, modern stance, and sleek form, the Envista takes Buick's sculptural beauty to the next level."
The ST trim features standard all-black 18-inch wheels, with 19-inch wheels available as an option. The Avenir trim includes bespoke Pearl Nickel 19-inch wheels to elevate its premium character.
The Envista's interior boasts spaciousness and a sense of lightness, with long windows allowing ample natural light to flood the cabin. The vehicle's long wheelbase and efficient layout offer more legroom than any previous Buick small SUV.
At the heart of the Envista's infotainment system is the Ultrawide Infotainment Display, featuring 19 diagonal inches of combined LCD screens that harmoniously work together. The latest Buick infotainment system offers an improved user interface design, voice recognition, and multimedia applications for a more intuitive driver experience.

Careful attention to detail is evident throughout the interior, from the colorful stitching on the seats to the Avenir and ST logos embroidered on the head restraints. A flat-bottom steering wheel comes standard across all trims, providing a sporty and premium option not commonly seen in this segment.
Buick's signature QuietTuning system enhances the cabin experience by minimizing road noise, creating a serene and relaxed driving atmosphere. The 2024 Envista comes standard with the Buick Driver Confidence package, which includes six active safety and driver assistance technologies such as Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning and IntelliBeam auto high beams. A high-definition Rear Vision Camera is also standard.
The Envista provides 20.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat and 42 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. A power liftgate is available for convenient access to the cargo area. Additional safety and driver assistance technologies, including Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, are also available.
Under the hood, the Envista features a high-performance 1.2L Turbo engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, expected to produce 136 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. The turbocharger ensures the engine reaches peak torque quickly and maintains it across a broader RPM range, delivering a responsive and engaging driving experience.
Scott McLane, Lead Development Engineer for the Buick Envista, explained, "Compared to previous generations of our 1.2L Turbo engine, this version is lighter and uses fewer parts, which reduces the overall vehicle weight, increases efficiency, and creates nimble ride and handling."
The Avenir trim comes standard with a Watts Link suspension system, also available on the ST, providing drivers with a more sure-footed, quiet, and isolated ride experience. McLane noted, "An array of advanced chassis and suspension technologies contributes to the nimble and precise handling of the model."
With an estimated 30 mpg (combined) fuel efficiency rating from GM, the 2024 Envista is as economical as it is stylish. Production is slated to begin next month, with customer availability expected this summer. Pricing starts at $23,495 for the Preferred trim, $25,195 for the Sport Touring, and $29,695 for the Avenir.
Prospective buyers can preview the new Envista on Buick’s website, with online configuration and ordering options available later in the summer.
