The 2022 Kia Stinger sports sedan will get more sting. Both of the model's powertrains offer more horsepower for the new model year, and appearance modifications inside and out accompany that added motive force. An extensive list of advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) is newly standard, too.

The 2022 Stinger release date is spring of 2021, and the car will be available in GT-Line, GT1, and GT2 trims. A Kia Stinger Scorpion special edition will arrive in showrooms later this year.
In terms of added sting, the twin-turbo V6 in the 2022 Stinger GT gets a slight power boost, up by three horsepower from the 2021 model to a total of 368. Peak torque remains the same at 376 lb.-ft.
Kia says the Stinger GT, equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and launch control, will accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) is standard, with a torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive (AWD) system available as an option.
Perhaps the most interesting new feature for the 2022 Stinger GT models is the electronic variable exhaust system, which Kia says gives the sports sedan a distinct "audible calling card."
While the Stinger GT gets a minor power boost, the more affordable 2022 Stinger GT-Line gets a transformational power upgrade. The switch to a 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine from the previous 2.0-liter power plant delivers an added 45 horsepower for the 2022 model year. The 2022 Stinger GT-Line will offer 300 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque.
Like the GT, the GT-Line has an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and a choice between RWD and torque-vectoring AWD. Kia says the new 2022 Stinger GT-Line will go from 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds.
One obvious change to the Stinger for 2022 is the new Kia logo prominently displayed on the hood and the wheel caps. Other exterior changes include standard LED headlights and LED taillights, the latter of which span the width of the liftgate, giving the 2022 Stinger a new rear light signature. An optional LED package does the same for the headlights and daytime running lights. New 18- and 19-inch wheel designs are available on the new model, and the 2022 Stinger will also feature a more aggressive exhaust tip.
Arriving a bit later than the other 2022 Stingers, the Scorpion Special Edition will offer a rendition of the currently popular "blackout" treatment, including black wheels, a black-motif fender garnish, black side mirror caps, and darkened exhaust tips. With a rear spoiler on the liftgate and carbon fiber trim inside, the Stinger Scorpion Special Edition will come in white, black, and silver exterior colors.
Inside, Kia upgrades the 2022 Stinger with black gloss and chrome details on the instrument panel and new ambient LED interior lighting with a variety of selectable colors. The Kia Stinger GT models get a new stitching pattern on the interior door panels, and GT models with Nappa leather surfaces get a new "chain link" design that Kia says is inspired by the wristbands found on high-end watches.

For 2022, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display with navigation and split-screen functionality is now standard. It includes multi-device Bluetooth pairing and UVO Link telematics supplying access to a range of connected services. The 2022 Stinger is smart-speaker compatible, too.
For the 2022 model year, the Stinger's suite of ADAS expands to include more standard features. Automatic emergency braking, blind-spot collision avoidance, and lane-keeping assistance are now standard on all 2022 Kia Stingers.
A new forward collision-avoidance assist with junction turning system helps the driver brake to prevent or lessen the effects of a collision when turning left across traffic when an oncoming vehicle is approaching.
Its navigation-based smart adaptive cruise control uses information from the car's navigation system to lower its speed before curves. Highway Driving Assist is also available, pairing the adaptive cruise with a lane-centering assistance function for effortless long-distance cruising.
Kia also offers Blind Spot View Monitor technology for the new Stinger, which provides a live video view of the adjacent lanes when the driver uses the turn signal to indicate a lane change. An available surround-view monitor system uses four cameras to provide a 360-degree vehicle perspective.
