Toyota's new Audio Multimedia platform introduces a wealth of new entertainment, convenience, and connectivity features to improve the driving experience. One such feature is Cloud Navigation—a more innovative, connected way to get you from one location to another. Replacing the older Dynamic Navigation system, Cloud Navigation utilizes real-time data to provide more accurate routes, updated maps, and enhanced interaction with other digital functions within the broader infotainment system.

Cloud Navigation is one of three key features of Toyota's Drive Connect service, along with Destination Assist and Intelligent Assistant. Unlike previous navigation systems that needed manual updates with onboard maps, Cloud Navigation connects through your car's data communication module (DCM) to stay current. This enables it to regularly check for infrastructure updates and deliver real-time traffic information, accurate ETAs, and refreshed points of interest (POIs).
Additionally, if the system detects you are about to lose connectivity on your route, it can download the necessary map data beforehand. Even when offline, onboard navigation remains accessible—though POI data might be more limited.
With an active trial or subscription, Cloud Navigation is always accessible by selecting the location icon from the left-hand menu. It opens the map screen, where you can switch between 2D and 3D views, zoom in or out, reset the map to your car, or reorient with North at the top.
The lower-right corner menu icon offers additional options, such as turning live traffic on or off, phoning Destination Assist, or changing detailed map settings. When there is no trial or subscription active, tapping the icon will show a landing screen with the Cloud Navigation banner.
It is versatile and simple to search for a destination:
If the initial suggestion is your target, you can accept it aloud. Otherwise, select the correct listing and click “Go” to start guiding. The system will then show turn-by-turn directions and an ETA.
In addition to single destination queries, Cloud Navigation enables you to:
This support for the Intelligent Assistant makes navigation faster, more intuitive, and more responsive than on previous platforms.
Ideal for road trips and daily commutes, Toyota Cloud Navigation advances traditional in-car navigation with real-time updates, voice commands, and predictive offline mapping. As part of the Drive Connect package, it provides smarter routes, updated maps, and smooth integration with other connected features.
