Changes to the 2023 Porsche Models

Chris Teague | Oct 30, 2022

Porsche is an iconic brand with lust-worthy sports cars and SUVs in several segments. The German automaker is moving toward electrification with the Taycan all-electric vehicle, hybrid variants of the Cayenne, and an expected move of the Macan SUV to electric power in the next few years. In the meantime, the company’s models roll into 2023 with modest changes. Still, most enter the new year with refinements to keep them atop their respective segments in luxury, performance, and exclusivity.

Porsche plans to electrify the 718 range by 2025. The automaker gave the car a significant performance upgrade in 2022 with the GT4 RS, but for 2023 made much less dramatic updates. The only changes for 2023 are a new Ice Grey Metallic paint color and newly standard Apple CarPlay for the GT4 RS. On the Boxster side, Porsche gave the Spyder wired Apple CarPlay, which finally means it’s standard for the model line.

Porsche offers the 911 in a staggering number of unique variants, each more powerful and expensive than the one before it. As part of the automaker’s 70th year in America, the company created a new America Edition GTS cabriolet. Limited to 100 units, the car comes with a 7-speed manual gearbox, exclusive Azure Blue paint, and unique graphics.

2023 Porsche Cayenne Changes - Find the best Porsche deals!

Porsche lightly updated the Cayenne for 2023 with a new grille design and new front air inlets on the bumper. The headlights are more angular and feature a less curved look, and the automaker revised the daytime running lights. Inside, the gear shift changed to a small toggle shifter, and the center console got a new touch panel controller. Industry observers expect Porsche to continue running the same powertrains, with a base V6, hybrid, and V8 variants available.

2023 Porsche Macan Changes - Find the best Porsche deals!

Porsche didn’t make many changes to the Macan for 2023 but did add a new T variant. The new SUV gets adaptive suspension and the Macan’s base 4-cylinder engine that makes 261 horsepower. It also gets the popular Sport Chrono package and standard all-wheel drive. Porsche says the 4-cylinder engine gives the Macan a lighter front end for better, more nimble handling.

2023 Porsche Panamera Changes - Find the best Porsche deals!

Porsche’s over-the-top sedan remains mostly unchanged for 2023. The automaker made adaptive cruise control standard, but the rowdy powertrains and upscale interior remain. Unique features like standard 4-passenger seating instead of five and a striking hatchback shape detract from the Panamera’s everyday practicality. However, there’s still plenty of space, and its sports car handling overcomes any shortcomings in usability.

2023 Porsche Taycan Changes - Find the best Porsche deals!

The popular all-electric Porsche Taycan receives a few substantive updates for 2023. All versions now come standard with 19-inch wheels, and Porsche made wireless Android Auto standard for the new model year. A Variable Light Control glass roof offers the ability to selectively shade portions of it, “frosting” individual panels within the glass. Porsche also includes hardware to wire front and rear dash cameras.

Porsche made upgrades to the car’s electric drive system and the technologies behind it. The Taycan now features a battery preconditioning system that enables quicker charge speeds up to 270 kWh. The navigation system now features a charging location feature that allows filtering based on charging speeds.
