Buick is hard at work preparing to launch its first all-electric model, the Electra, in 2024. The new 2024 Buick Electra will launch a comprehensive brand transformation that will eventually see Buick’s complete transition to electric vehicles (EVs) by 2030.

Not surprisingly, there’s very little in the way of Buick product news in 2023. Perhaps most noteworthy is that Buick has discontinued the Encore SUV—its smallest but best-selling model—following an extended 2022 production run. With the Encore’s departure, only three crossover SUV models remain in the Buick portfolio.
Although the changes to the 2023 Buick models are minimal, one item affects all three: Moonstone Gray Metallic becomes an extra-cost exterior paint color option. Here’s a rundown of what’s new for each Buick model for 2023.
For 2023, Buick continues to offer its roomy, 3-row Enclave SUV in three well-equipped trim levels: Essence, Premium, and Avenir. A smooth and powerful 310-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine works with a 9-speed automatic transmission to transport up to seven passengers in comfort and style. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard; all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional.
Besides the new paint color, the only change to the 2023 Enclave is that the Sport Touring Edition (available on Essence) now comes with 20-inch gloss black wheels. Otherwise, the 2023 Enclave is the same as the 2022 model.
With the Encore’s departure, the Encore GX becomes the smallest model in Buick’s lineup. The 5-seat Encore GX comes in Preferred, Select, and Essence trim levels.
While the Encore GX may be small in stature, it’s big on value. It comes standard with an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, Amazon Alexa Built-in, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring. On the safety front, the standard Buick Driver Confidence package provides an array of advanced driver assistance systems.
The new paint color is the only change to the 2023 Buick Encore GX.
The 2-row, 5-passenger Envision SUV represents the intermediate offering in the 2023 Buick lineup. It’s available in Preferred, Essence, and Avenir trim levels. A 228-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine is standard, as is a 9-speed automatic transmission. It comes with standard FWD, with AWD optionally available.
Like the Enclave and Encore GX, the Envision sees no changes for 2023, save for two new extra-cost paint colors: White Frost Tricoat and Moonstone Gray Metallic.
