Ram is returning the supercharged, Hellcat-powered, performance-oriented version of its full size, light duty pickup to the lineup for the 2027 model year. A product of a revived Street and Racing Technology (SRT) division, the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX will be the fastest and most powerful gas-powered production truck when it goes on sale during the second half of 2026 for $102,590 (including the $2,595 destination charge).

Those three letters—SRT—ensure the new TRX is not a replica of the old TRX, which went out of production in 2024 after Ram built 4,000 high-priced “final editions.” Whoops.
For example, the supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 produces a whopping 777 horsepower and 680 pound-feet of torque. Those figures represent gains of 75 hp and 30 pound-feet over the old TRX. The new TRX also delivers an extra 237 hp and 159 pound-feet of torque compared to the Ram RHO, which has a twin-turbocharged inline-six-cylinder engine. That is a big power gap, and the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX accelerates to 60 mph in a remarkable 3.5 seconds, according to the automaker. Still, the RHO is not far behind at 4.6 seconds.
The RHO donates its Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shocks to the new TRX, as well as a multi-function switch bank beneath the 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment touchscreen. An updated electrical architecture makes Uconnect more responsive to inputs, and new technology for the TRX includes Trailer Reverse Steer Control and a hands-free driving system called Active Driving Assist.
Every 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX is well equipped at the starting price. Highlights include 12-way power adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation, and massage, premium leather upholstery, an artificial suede headliner, and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. Among the few options is a panoramic sunroof.
To celebrate the TRX’s return to the Ram lineup during the second half of 2026, it will be available as a distinctive Bloodshot Night Edition (shown above). Painted two-tone black over red with bold graphics, beadlock-capable wheels, carbon fiber trim, and other upgrades, it will attract attention.

The revitalized Ram SRT TRX has just one direct rival: the Ford F-150 Raptor equipped with the Raptor R option package. That truck costs over $10,000 more than the Ram SRT TRX, is less powerful, does not offer as generous a powertrain warranty, and is equally fuel inefficient (both trucks average 12 mpg in combined driving).
Alternatively, you could save more than $25,000 by choosing the Ram 1500 RHO. It accelerates to 60 mph a second slower, but it gets 15 mpg in combined driving and looks like the SRT TRX inside and out.
I understand the new Ram TRX is about bragging rights and the sound it makes. But the smart money remains on the RHO.
