The refreshed 2025 BMW 3 Series is the latest iteration of the German luxury sport automaker’s iconic premium sedan. It is adored worldwide by driving enthusiasts who appreciate the added flexibility of its four-door body style.

The updated 3 Series comes exclusively in a four-door body style and is available in four trim levels: 330i, 330i xDrive, M340i, and M340i xDrive. Each uses mild-hybrid (MHEV) engine technology to aid responsiveness and drivability. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) comes standard on the 330i and M340i, while the xDrive-equipped cars feature BMW’s all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.

The 3 Series’ exterior undergoes minor changes during the 2025 refresh. There are two new exterior colors—Arctic Race Blue metallic and Vegas Red metallic—and two new “BMW Individual” shades—Frozen Pure Grey metallic and Frozen Portimao Blue metallic. Two new 19-inch M alloy wheel designs round out the exterior changes for 2025.

Like the exterior, changes to the 2025 BMW 3 Series interior are minor. Two new steering wheel designs are available, including nine-way customizable integrated lighting around the trim and central vents.
All 2025 3 Series models have a standard curved panoramic display comprising two screens. The BMW Curved Display entails a 12.3-inch driver information screen and a 14.9-inch infotainment display.
Several interior trim materials are available in the 2025 3 Series:

Two turbocharged engines are available in the 2025 BMW 3 Series, utilizing new 48-volt MHEV technology. According to BMW, this results in quicker engine response, better efficiency, and an additional 11 horsepower.
A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a 48-volt starter generator paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission powers the 330i and 330i xDrive. Output is 255 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque. According to BMW, the RWD 330i will go from zero-to-60 mph in 5.6 seconds, while the AWD 330i is 0.2 seconds faster.
The M340i and M340i xDrive utilize the same 48-volt MHEV technology but gain two additional cylinders, resulting in more power and better performance. The 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine/eight-speed automatic transmission combination in the M340i models delivers 386 hp and 398 pound-feet of torque. BMW says the RWD M340i and AWD M340i xDrive can go from zero-to-60 mph in 4.4 and 4.1 seconds, respectively.
BMW also notes steering and chassis improvements for 2025, which the automaker says results in an even better blend of ride sportiness and comfort—one of the car’s calling cards.

In the 2025 3 Series, BMW's iDrive 8.5 operating system now features QuickSelect technology with an improved menu structure. It offers quick, easy access to the navigation system, climate controls, and access to other apps and widgets. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.
All 3 Series trims for 2025 offer an optional head-up display (HUD) and Augmented View function. The HUD projects pertinent driving information on the windscreen, and the Augmented View function works with the navigation system to display real-time directions and information.
The My BMW app offers a convenient user experience, allowing owners to personalize their drive. The app shows the vehicle status, remaining range, and service or maintenance requirements, among other items. Over-the-air updates and a Wi-Fi hotspot are also available in the 3 Series.
The BMW 3 Series is an iconic premium four-door sedan, and for good reason. It offers the convenience of a sedan body style, plenty of power, and a lush, high-tech cabin. Rivals of the 3 Series include the Audi A4, Cadillac CT4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and the Volvo S60.
