In a significant stride forward, Ford's cherished Mustang® brand amplifies its legendary aura by launching the Mustang GT4 at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa on the famed Spa-Francorchamps circuit in eastern Belgium.
As the newest addition to the Blue Oval's motorsport repertoire, the Mustang GT4 represents the essence of "Ford vs. Everyone," a campaign championed by Ford's President and CEO, Jim Farley. It shares a platform with its sibling, the Mustang GT3, based on the groundbreaking 2024 Mustang Dark Horse™. With this launch, Ford extends its unbroken presence in the GT4 class of the SRO-sanctioned championships, which dates back to 2017.

Drawing parallels with the Mustang GT3, the GT4 features an audacious, vibrant livery influenced by Troy Lee Designs, creators of the Mustang GT3 and SuperVan 4.2 liveries. Troy Lee holds an esteemed reputation as a top-tier motorsports livery designer on the global stage.
Mark Rushbrook, Global Director of Ford Performance Motorsports, elucidated, "The Mustang GT4 is a key member of our motorsports lineup. Its placement between the Mustang GT3 and the soon-to-be-unveiled Mustang Dark Horse R keeps the brand in competition at all levels of on-track performance and is an important part of our customer racing program. With this new version, based on the seventh generation's new Dark Horse model, we've upped the game and are ready to challenge an entire world of competitors."
The 2022 introduction of the Mustang Dark Horse paved the way for an extensive debut of an assortment of Mustang race cars this year, including the newly minted Mustang GT4, the recently unveiled Mustang GT3, and the imminent Mustang Dark Horse R, among others. Together, they uphold the stature of the Mustang as Ford's most raced and most victorious badge, competing on revered tracks from Daytona to Bathurst, offering participation opportunities from the pinnacle of professional GT racing to amateur track days. The Mustang is poised to dominate tracks worldwide.
Ford Performance continues strengthening its long-standing collaboration with Multimatic, the entity assigned to assemble every Mustang GT4. These race cars will be powered by the Ford Coyote-based V8 engines, conceived and developed entirely by the in-house team at Ford Performance and assembled by Ford in Dearborn, Michigan.

Christian Hertrich, Motorsports powertrain manager at Ford Performance, stated, “We’re proud to work with so many great partners on these race vehicle programs. It’s also special to be able to do all of the engine work for the Mustang GT4 fully in-house. We’ve got a great team, and I’m excited for Mustang fans to see the Mustang GT4 in action.”
The Mustang GT4 race car also includes notable features such as Multimatic DSSV dampers, a Holinger dog-ring gearbox, paddle shifters with pneumatic actuation, natural fiber body panels, and a unique aero package designed to meet GT4 category objectives.
The Mustang GT4's grand unveiling represents a milestone in Ford's continued commitment to expanding its motorsports footprint and dominance. As the roar of its V8 engines takes to the world's most legendary tracks, Ford brings forth a thrilling new chapter in the iconic saga of the Mustang brand.
