Changes to the 2021 Lincoln Nautilus Bring New Interior and Infotainment

Christian Wardlaw | Nov 20, 2020

With the departures of the Continental and MKZ for the 2021 model year, Lincoln is now an SUV brand offering four different models. Listed by size, they are the Corsair, Nautilus, Aviator, and Navigator.

The 2021 Lincoln Nautilus is a 5-passenger midsize model, and this year it gets a new interior to better align it with its siblings. Additionally, Lincoln says it has refined the front styling and adds a new Sync 4 infotainment system with a 13.2-inch touchscreen display.

Asher Gray is a new exterior color, and the 2021 Nautilus also comes in two monochromatic color treatments using Flight Blue and Green Gem paint colors. For 2021, Nautilus now offers Lincoln’s Phone as a Key technology, allowing owners to use a smartphone as the vehicle key rather than the supplied key fob.

Inside, the 2021 Nautilus showcases a horizon-inspired design theme rendered in neutral tones that Lincoln hopes will provide a calming interior ambiance. Two standard interior colors are available, including a new Sandstone environment and a Black Ebony treatment with Roast accents on the seats, doors, and armrests. Additionally, Lincoln offers premium Black Label themes called Chalet (Alpine and Espresso with Silverwood) and Flight (arriving next year). Lincoln’s piano-key transmission controls replace the stacked arrangement in the previous Nautilus.

Sync 4 comes with the largest touchscreen display found in any Lincoln model, and it includes a new Constellation appearance theme emphasizing blue hues and orange accents. Equipped with an embedded modem, the system accepts over-the-air software updates and provides conversational internet search capability. SiriusXM 360L premium satellite radio is also aboard, and the digital owner’s manual is available through the display.

Nautilus continues to offer a standard 250-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder or an available 335-hp twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6. An 8-speed automatic powers the front wheels unless you opt for all-wheel drive.

The Lincoln Co-Pilot360 collection of advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) is standard. Co-Pilot360 Plus is optional, adding a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-centering assistance, evasive steering assist, and an enhanced active parking assistance system.

Lincoln continues to build the Nautilus in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
