Audi Announces Limited Edition RS e-tron GT "project_513/2"

Dustin Hawley | Mar 17, 2023

Audi has revealed an exclusive offering of just 75 units of the 2023 Audi RS e-tron GT project_513/2, developed in partnership with Audi exclusive. This limited edition model closely mirrors the e-tron GT prototype and is specifically designed for the U.S. market. It features "e-tron" camouflage graphics on both the interior and exterior, inspired by the original global prototype testing design.

The 2023 RS e-tron GT project_513/2 is Audi's premier model to showcase a factory-fitted camouflage graphics exterior, often used during early testing stages to keep the vehicle's design and technology a secret from curious onlookers.

Using the internal code name as a special edition emphasizes the vehicle's exclusivity. The project_513/2 label reflects the naming convention that defines the product's segment, generation, and body style, which is typically kept confidential during development.

Audi exclusive incorporated the red and black color scheme from the original prototype test mules, introducing "red" Audi rings on the front and rear of the exterior. Additionally, the 21-inch aero wheels in black are complemented by red front and rear ceramic brakes.

The rear quarter glass displays the "project_513/2" logo, emphasizing the model's exclusivity. Inside, the vehicle boasts red and black accents and unique Audi-exclusive interior elements. The air vents are painted in the same red color as the exterior Audi rings, while red accents adorn the steering wheel, floor mats, and Fine Nappa leather honeycomb-stitched seats.

For the first time, Audi has introduced carbon fiber inlays with camo graphics on the dashboard, mirroring the exterior design. This feature employs a cutting-edge "partial matting" patented process, primarily done by hand. It involves masking the first component with a special foil before applying glass media material using a suction jet method to create a distinct, consistent appearance.

The RS e-tron GT project_513/2 also comes with a wide array of standard equipment, including:

  • Fine Nappa leather seats with honeycomb stitching
  • 18-way front sport seat with ventilation and massage
  • Ceramic brakes with red caliper
  • Rear wheel steering
  • Power steering plus
  • Audi exclusive interior
  • 21" 5-double-spoke concave design wheels in black finish
  • Dinamica headliner
  • HD Matrix-design LED headlights with Audi laser light
  • Carbon-fiber roof
  • Carbon-fiber exterior door inlays
  • Carbon-fiber mirror caps
  • Illuminated carbon fiber door sill inlays with RS logo

The RS e-tron GT project_513/2 showcases the exceptional performance of the RS e-tron GT, Audi's fastest accelerating production model. Two separate motors on the front and rear axles generate a combined 637 horsepower, enabling the vehicle to reach 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds.

The project_513/2 comes equipped with standard rear-wheel steering, enhancing performance and handling at all speeds. The rear wheels can turn up to 2.8 degrees opposite the front wheels at speeds up to 30 mph for a tighter turning radius and in the same direction as the front wheels at speeds above 30 mph to increase stability and dynamics.

Customers will also receive a unique special edition VIN art to celebrate the individuality of each project_513/2. Printed on a thin aluminum plate with a high-gloss surface, these VIN art portraits showcase a high-resolution, detailed representation of the customer's vehicle derived from the VIN.

The 2023 Audi RS e-tron GT project_513/2 goes on sale this spring with a starting MSRP of $179,900.
