Mercedes-Benz has announced changes to the 2021 CLS. The midsize, 4-door coupe gains new infotainment technology and safety systems in addition to two new colors called Mojave Silver and Cirrus Silver.

The 2021 Mercedes CLS will include the latest version of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system. In this model, it includes dual 12.3-inch high-resolution displays placed next to one another under a single widescreen panel. The right display is a touchscreen for the infotainment system.
Highlights of MBUX include natural voice recognition technology, artificial intelligence to learn an owner’s habits and preferences, and camera-based augmented reality for the navigation system to improve a driver’s ability to find a destination. An optional MBUX Interior Assist upgrade adds movement recognition, which interprets gestures as commands.
On the safety front, a new active braking feature works together with front cross-traffic warning technology when you’re making turns across lanes of oncoming traffic. This can prevent the CLS from turning into the path of approaching vehicles.
An Active Speed Limit Assist system uses navigation map data and the car’s traffic sign recognition technology to automatically adjust vehicle speed for curves, corners, toll booths, exit ramps, and the like. In some situations, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz CLS can also respond to live traffic data.
Another new feature is Active Stop-and-Go Assist. This adaptive cruise control technology works at speeds under 37 mph and requires a driver to pay attention as the car automatically steers, stops, and goes, following traffic ahead at a safe distance. The stop-and-go system will automatically resume travel within 60 seconds of coming to a stop. Beyond that time limit, the driver will need to take action.
The 2021 Mercedes CLS will come in CLS 450, CLS 450 4Matic, and AMG CLS 53 model series. It goes on sale in late 2020.
