The 2023 model year sees a holding pattern for Ram, with few changes to its broad-shouldered pickup trucks and ProMaster cargo van. Some new special editions debut for the trucks, while the ProMaster enjoys a minor freshening of its front end, as well as some new options and a new roof height. Otherwise, the work-minded vehicles remain largely the same as last year.

Two new special editions debut for the full-size Ram 1500 pickup. First is the Limited Elite Edition boasting a cargo box full of useful features like a locking tailgate, cargo divider, adjustable tie-down hooks, and a deployable bed step, along with other visual enhancements. Also, a TRX Sandblast Edition, which builds on the TRX Level 2 Equipment Group, adds Mojave Sand paint and graphics, distinctive wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and styling elements in the cabin.
Meanwhile, the Ram 1500 receives a newly available 12-inch digital dashboard. Other changes for the 1500 are minor, as this current generation—first introduced in 2019—soldiers on with four engine choices that range from the base 3.6-liter V6 to the supercharged, 702-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 of the TRX. The 2023 model year also represents the final year of the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel model.
The 2023 model year sees Ram introduce the off-road-oriented 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel trim level for their burly pickups. Based on the Ram 1500 Rebel, the truck maker further beefs up the suspension and tires on the 2500, provides skid plates and an optional 12,000-pound Warn winch, and boasts exterior styling cues.
Otherwise, few changes are in store for Ram’s heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks for 2023. One is a newly available digital dashboard. Another is a rearview camera mirror. Ram further enhances visibility with optional telescoping trailer tow mirrors and camera improvements around the truck. An available Trailer Reverse Steering Control feature facilitates backing up with a trailer. The Ram Heavy Duty is available with a 410-hp 6.4-liter V8 or a 370-hp 6.7-liter inline 6-cylinder diesel engine.
For 2023, Ram gives its ProMaster cargo van a facelift, with a new front fascia and headlights and more visual customization options. A Black Appearance package darkens the badges, grilles, and wheels. And if the low and high roof heights don’t quite meet your cargo needs, there is now a super high configuration option for the 13-foot ProMaster.
You can also opt for a new park-assist feature to help ease this cargo van into parallel or perpendicular parking spaces. The ProMaster is available in short, standard, and long wheelbases, as well as 1500, 2500, and 3500 models (with increasing payload ratings). Available roof heights are short, tall, and supertall. A 276-hp 3.6-liter V6 engine powers all 2023 Ram ProMaster vans.
