Following a busy 2022 that saw Infiniti launch two all-new or redesigned crossover SUV models—the compact 2-row QX55 and the midsize 3-row QX60—Nissan Motor's luxury division catches its breath for the 2023 model year. Despite the lack of new product news for 2023, the brand does roll out an integrated complimentary vehicle-maintenance program—Infiniti Premium Care—across the board. The free scheduled maintenance program provides up to three years of oil changes, tire rotations, inspections, and more for every new 2023 Infiniti vehicle, whether purchased or leased.
Alas, Infiniti giveth and Infiniti taketh away as we bid adieu to the sporty Q60 2-door coupe—one of more than a dozen models to depart the U.S. automotive marketplace for 2023. Read on to learn about all the changes to the 2023 Infiniti models.
With the discontinuation of the Q60, the midsize Q50 midsize sedan is now the last passenger-car model remaining in Infiniti's U.S. lineup. Considering the Q50's age (introduced in 2014 with no significant changes since) and lack of updates in recent years, one has to wonder if it's also on the chopping block. At any rate, Infiniti makes two minor updates to the Q50 for 2023: the entry-level Luxe trim is now available with a Saddle Brown interior, and the Sensory trim offers an available radiant grille emblem.
The QX50 compact crossover sees more changes than any other Infiniti model for 2023. Newly standard features include app-based remote engine start, heated mirrors, a wireless phone charger, and a safe-exit system. More newsworthy than that, however, is a new Sport trim that includes a unique front fascia, 20-inch dark-painted machined-finish wheels, gloss black exterior trim, semi-aniline leather seats, and a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system. There's a new 19-inch wheel design for Pure and Luxe trims, and select trims are available in a handful of new exterior and interior colors.
Sharing much of its componentry with the QX50, the more sleekly styled QX55 crossover also gets new standard features for 2023. They include leather seats on all trims, 4-way power lumbar adjustment for the driver's seat, a rear USB-C charging port, and new advanced safety features (lane-departure warning and blind-spot warning). Also standard is ProPilot Assist (combines adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance). Essential and higher trims also inherit traffic-sign recognition, adaptive front lighting (headlights swivel to help see around dark corners), and self-leveling LED headlights. Lastly, the Sensory trim adds 4-way passenger power lumbar and heated rear outboard seats.
Following a redesign for the 2022 model year, changes to the 2023 Infiniti QX60 are minimal. All but the entry-level Pure grade get revised lower bumper trim accent colors (gloss black on Luxe, dark gray on Sensory and Autograph). Also, a wireless phone charging pad is now standard, as is a frameless rearview mirror.
Infiniti's big 3-row SUV, the QX80, marches into 2023 with just two minor changes: haptic steering wheel feedback now delivers lane-departure warnings, and the SUV has built-in Amazon Alexa compatibility.
