The redesigned 2025 Infiniti QX80 incorporates the brand’s new design language, debuts several innovative technologies, and provides enhanced comfort and convenience, taking this full-size luxury SUV to new levels of refinement.

The all-new 2025 QX80 is available in four trim levels: Pure, Luxe, Sensory, and Autograph. Infiniti keeps the powertrain choices simple, as all versions feature a new, twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine (a V8 is no longer available) and a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Pure and Luxe trims come standard with rear-wheel drive (2WD), while four-wheel drive (4WD) is standard on Sensory and Autograph trims and optional on Pure and Luxe.

The 2025 QX80 debuts Infiniti’s new design language, which it calls “Artistry in Motion.” As seen on the recently unveiled QX Monograph concept version of the SUV, the new QX80 features a more squared-off shape compared to the outgoing model. A new double-arch grille sits below the QX80’s long, nearly flat hood. Narrow LED daytime running lights flank the upper grille, which features an illuminated Infiniti logo.
The new QX80 also features flush door handles that pop out when you unlock the vehicle, two distinct character lines along the body sides, and blacked-out door pillars. The back of the SUV incorporates full-width LED lighting, containing more than 300 individual LEDs with smoked-finish lamps.

Like the exterior, Infiniti designers completely reworked the QX80’s interior, taking inspiration from Japanese culture and the concept of Miyabi, which blends layered, high-quality soft-touch materials with technology. Indeed, the QX80’s cabin is replete with quality soft materials like leather and suede with more rigid components such as wood and metal.
All 2025 QX80s come standard with second-row captain’s chairs, the SUV offering seating for seven passengers. A second-row bench seat is optional on all but the top-spec Autograph, increasing seating capacity to eight. Depending on the trim level, the QX80 comes equipped with synthetic leather seats, genuine leather, or semi-aniline premium leather.
The QX80 features dual 14.3-inch display screens, one in front of the driver housing gauges and instruments and a separate screen right next to it serving as the infotainment touchscreen. Located between the dashboard and center console, yet another screen contains the climate controls, seat heating and cooling controls, and vehicle drive-mode selector. A color head-up display is standard on all but the base Pure trim.
The new QX80 has a Biometric Cooling feature that detects when a second-row passenger is hot and, with no human interaction, automatically adjusts the temperature and airflow to cool them. According to Infiniti, the technology can cool passengers in half the time.

Reflecting an industry trend toward smaller, more fuel-efficient (yet still powerful) engines, Infiniti ditches the prior-generation QX80’s V8 in favor of a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6. The new V6 cranks out a stout 450 hp and 516 pound-feet of torque. According to Infiniti, these figures represent significant increases of 50 hp and 103 pound-feet over the V8.
While the switch to V6 power likely signals better fuel efficiency, neither Infiniti nor the Environmental Protection Agency has released fuel-economy estimates for the 2025 QX80 at the time of this writing.
A nine-speed automatic transmission handles gear shifts, transferring power to the rear or all four wheels. A drive-mode selector allows you to choose from Standard, Eco, Sport, Snow, Tow, and Personal settings, thus tailoring the SUV’s driving characteristics depending on road conditions.
An available electronic air suspension allows drivers to raise or lower the QX80 by up to 2.8 inches, depending on the situation. For instance, you can lower the vehicle by 2.8 inches to ease passenger ingress/egress and cargo loading/unloading or raise it by 2.4 inches to tackle rugged off-road terrain.
Wheel sizes for the new QX80 range from 20 to 22 inches, with the Autograph getting uniquely designed 22-inch wheels. All QX80s wear all-season tires.
The 2025 Infiniti QX80 can tow 8,500 pounds when properly equipped.

While the updates to the 2025 QX80’s interior, exterior, and powertrain are noteworthy, the upgrades to the SUV’s technology are perhaps even more significant, particularly several innovative camera-based features.
Front Wide View allows the driver to “see” past objects on either side of the SUV by presenting a 170-degree forward view on the vehicle’s dual 14.3-inch display screens. Also handy, Invisible Hood View projects an image of what’s in front of the QX80 as if the hood weren’t there, helping the driver identify hard-to-see obstacles close to the ground.
An enhanced surround-view camera with 3D functionality and moving-object detection further enhances the QX80’s capabilities, while the available rearview camera mirror also sees performance improvements. Hooking up a trailer is also easier, thanks to a special zoom view for the rearview camera.
The available In-Car Camera allows those in the front row to monitor activity in the second row, which is visible on the infotainment screen. And, using the Infiniti smartphone app, owners can also peek inside the QX80 when it’s parked to see if they left anything behind—human or otherwise.
Another cool feature is the Journey Diary, which allows you to share photos or videos from your trip on social media platforms as captured by the forward-facing and in-car cameras.
If you have a favorite parking spot, the new QX80 can help you remember where it is. The My Parking Locations feature stores your favorite parking spot and provides parking guide lines on the display screen when approaching your preferred location.
According to Infiniti, the new QX80 is the first model in its segment to feature standard Klipsch premium audio systems. The Pure and Luxe trims have a 14-speaker, 600-watt system. Meanwhile, the Sensory and Autograph trims have a 24-speaker, 1,200-watt Klipsch Reference Premiere Audio System with titanium tweeters and Individual Audio functionality. That last item allows front-seat passengers to customize their listening experience through the seat headrests.
Regarding driver assistance, the new QX80 features Infiniti ProPilot Assist technology. Pure, Luxe, and Sensory trims come with ProPilot Assist 1.1. At the same time, the range-topping Autograph has ProPilot Assist 2.1 (optional on Luxe and Sensory), which adds partial hands-free capability in certain driving situations.
The Infiniti QX80 competes in a high-profile (and high-brow) segment against some of the priciest, best-equipped SUVs on the market. The only real Japanese-branded competitor to the QX80 is the Lexus LX. Traditional, domestic-branded rivals include the Cadillac Escalade, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, and Lincoln Navigator. Several European models—the BMW X7, Land Rover Range Rover, and the Mercedes-Benz GLS—also serve as alternatives for well-heeled buyers.
While the QX80 doesn’t sell in the same numbers as many of its competitors, Infiniti’s latest effort shows that it’s committed to the segment. That said, perhaps the ones who will benefit most from the latest QX80 redesign are buyers of the next-generation Nissan Armada, which will undoubtedly share much of the Infiniti’s DNA.
