With bold styling, a lowered rear suspension, a powerful V8 engine, and performance-tuned dual exhaust, the new 2025 Ford F-150 Lobo is a factory-built full-size street truck.

Citing the thriving aftermarket for lowered, performance-enhanced pickups, the automaker believes there’s an untapped market for factory-built street trucks. Less than a year after announcing the Maverick Lobo compact street truck, Ford is following it up with a full-size version, complete with a factory-backed limited warranty.
The Lobo name, Spanish for “wolf,” traces its automotive roots back to 1997, when Ford of Mexico first applied it to one of its products. Based on the F-150 STX SuperCrew (crew cab) with a 5.5-foot pickup bed, the new F-150 Lobo package features unique, aggressive styling elements, including a face Ford calls “sinister.”
Lobo-specific styling elements include a unique upper grille fronting an updated light bar, a 10-piece lower body ground-effects kit that incorporates a wide gloss-black mesh lower grille, a cowl hood with black-accented vents, and upgraded taillights. The exterior look is complete with a lowered rear suspension (two-inch drop), black-accented exhaust tips, and 22-inch gloss black Lobo-specific wheels. Ford did not call out any Lobo-specific interior details.
Ford endows the truck with a standard 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque to ensure the new Lobo isn't just a styling exercise. Dual exhaust, an upgraded two-speed automatic four-wheel-drive system, and 3.73 gears with an electronic-locking differential enhance the truck’s performance. Ford notes the Lobo’s maximum towing capacity is 7,900 pounds, and it can haul 1,450 pounds, so it maintains full-size truck capability despite the aesthetic changes.
Available in five colors—Agate Black Metallic, Atlas Blue Metallic, Carbonized Gray, Oxford White, and Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat—the 2025 Ford F-150 Lobo will be available in the fall of 2025. Pricing starts at $59,995 and includes the $4,695 Lobo package and $2,195 destination charge to ship the truck from Ford’s Dearborn, Michigan, assembly plant.

While there’s a burgeoning market for factory-produced, lifted, off-road-oriented trucks, automakers have largely ignored the lowered, street-focused truck scene. With two new model introductions in the past calendar year, aimed at buyers in two different truck segments, Ford is looking to change that. Perhaps we’ll even see a midsize Ford Ranger Lobo in the not-too-distant future. Personally, I think a Super Duty Lobo would be pretty cool.
Time will tell if other truck makers, including Chevrolet, GMC, Ram, and Toyota, will go all in on a factory-produced street truck. Clearly, Ford is committed to the street-truck scene and has provided a road map for other manufacturers to do the same.
