Land Rover may not be the highest-volume automaker in the world, but its product lines have grown so varied that they’ve become their own individual brands. The Range Rover catalog includes the classic SUV, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar, and Range Rover Evoque. The latter is the smallest entrant, and it enters the 2024 model year with a mild update that includes a new curved touchscreen, slightly massaged styling, and a significant price bump.

Land Rover offers two Evoque variants for 2024: S and Dynamic SE. Both have a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive (AWD). Though small and luxurious, the Evoque is surprisingly capable off-road. It gets Land Rover’s advanced terrain-management systems to help it conquer tough trails.
Changes to the 2024 Range Rover Evoque’s exterior take a trained eye to spot. The SUV’s grille pattern changes slightly, but its shape remains unchanged. New two-tone contrasting roof colors are available, and Land Rover offers three new colors, including bronze, grey, and a fresh blue hue. The SUV features LED exterior lighting fixtures, and folding side mirrors come standard.

Land Rover shuffles the Evoque’s interior for 2024, giving it a new touchscreen and fancier chrome accents. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel come standard, along with grained leather upholstery and a memory system. The SUV gets a new center console with more storage, and Land Rover replaces the gearshift with a smaller, more upscale-looking unit.
Land Rover gives the new Evoque a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine making 246 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. The automaker mates it to a 9-speed automatic transmission, and the SUV has standard AWD. Land Rover says acceleration to 60 mph takes 7 seconds, and the Evoque’s top speed is 143 mph. Beyond its terrain-management technologies, the SUV offers 20.86 inches of water-fording depth. It can tow 3,968 pounds—pretty impressive for a small luxury utility vehicle.

As part of its 2024 makeover, the Evoque gets a full suite of advanced driver aids. The list includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning, parking sensors, traffic-sign recognition, and more. As of this writing, neither the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) nor the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has crash-tested the Range Rover Evoque.
The 2024 Evoque gets a new curved 11.4-inch touchscreen running Land Rover’s improved Pivi Pro interface. The automaker simplified the system to reduce the number of taps it takes to accomplish common tasks like setting climate temperatures and adjusting audio settings. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, along with wireless charging, a configurable gauge cluster, and SiriusXM satellite radio.
The Range Rover Evoque competes in a massive class of luxury SUVs, including the Audi Q5 and BMW X4, which offer a sportier driving experience. Buyers may also consider the Land Rover Discovery Sport, which is slightly cheaper and more hard-core off-road. The Mercedes-Benz GLC is a solid alternative to those entrants, offering a plush interior and agreeable driving dynamics.
