Changes to the 2024 Porsche Models

Chris Teague | Mar 14, 2024

Porsche builds some of the world’s most desirable and recognizable cars, and the automaker’s catalog is growing even more exciting with electrified performance models. The Taycan debuted a couple of years ago, and industry observers expect Porsche to reveal its new electric Macan SUV this year. The Panamera enters its third generation in 2024, and Porsche gives the 2024 Cayenne a heavy mid-cycle refresh. Elsewhere, much of the German automaker’s lineup receives notable changes to technology and performance, so let’s look at the changes to Porsche’s models in 2024.

The mid-engine Porsche 718 brings lively performance and a more playful attitude than the 911 and does so at a considerably lower price. Porsche continues offering many configurations in 2024, including the Cayman coupe and Boxster convertible. Trim levels include the base model, a new Style Edition, S, and GT4 RS. The new Style Edition has exclusive 20-inch wheels, available body graphics, black exhaust finishers, and interior touches such as a heated steering wheel and unique floor mats.

The 911 receives a few changes for 2024, including a new S/T version that will be the lightest variant of the current generation. A 518-horsepower 4.0-liter flat-6 mated to a manual transmission powers the car, and it gets several weight-saving upgrades, such as bodywork comprised almost entirely of carbon fiber. Elsewhere, the 911 gains wireless Android Auto capability and native Spotify streaming, and the Carrera T trim is now available with full bucket seats and a Bose stereo as individual options.

Though it’s not technically a generational update, the enhancements to the 2024 Cayenne border on a complete overhaul. The powerful SUV picks up a new display system called Porsche Driver Experience. It features a 12.6-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen; buyers can add a 10.9-inch front passenger display screen.

New E-Hybrid variants bring the most powerful Cayenne of all time in the updated Turbo E-Hybrid, which offers 729 hp from a twin-turbocharged V8 and electric motors. Porsche also gives the 2024 Cayenne a revised suspension system and tweaked the active suspension management (PASM) system to provide better handling and ride quality in all situations.

2024 Porsche Macan Changes - Find the best Porsche Macan deals!

While the gas-powered Macan does not receive any substantive upgrades for 2024, auto experts expect Porsche to release an all-electric Macan early in the model year. The automaker hasn’t detailed all specs yet but has confirmed the top configuration will get more than 600 hp. It will be the first Porsche to ride on parent automaker Volkswagen’s new Premium Platform Electric (PPE), which provides several benefits over the Taycan’s platform, including longer range estimates. For the Macan, that means somewhere around 300 miles of range per charge.

2024 Porsche Panamera Changes - Find the best Porsche Panamera deals!

The new Panamera debuts with four plug-in hybrid powertrain options, depending on the global market. Porsche cut the Sport Turismo (wagon) body style for the new year, giving the car standard HD Matrix headlights, 20- or 21-inch wheels, and a fresh rear-end design with wrap-around taillights. The car retains its base V6 engine and picks up standard PASM with updated 2-valve dampers and other refinements. Porsche also tweaked the 8-speed PDK transmission, giving it a new liftoff deceleration feature, and the car has more sound deadening for a more peaceful ride.

2024 Porsche Taycan Changes - Find the best Porsche Taycan deals!

Observers expect the all-electric Porsche Taycan to receive a substantive update in 2025 or 2026, but it enters 2024 unchanged. It carries on with a starting price in the neighborhood of $90,000, available in base, 4, 4S, GTS, Turbo, and Turbo S trims.
