Lucid Motors is a Silicon Valley-based manufacturer of battery-electric luxury cars that recently introduced a 7-passenger battery-electric SUV. The 2025 Lucid Gravity will go into production late in 2024, with availability likely soon after. Lucid will build the 3-row SUV on a new, dedicated platform using the automaker's proprietary lightweight electric powertrain. Lucid Motors projects the Gravity's range on a single charge at more than 440 miles. The carmaker says the base price for the new SUV will be under $80,000. While the new Gravity SUV is the headline grabber, Lucid Motors has also introduced a new, lower-priced variant of its Lucid Air luxury sport sedan and a super-high-performance version of the model for 2024.
The stylish Lucid Air battery-electric sedan gives buyers two additional choices for the 2024 model year. The new top-of-the-line trim is the Sapphire, with a suggested retail price of $249,000. It boasts an incredible 1,234 horsepower. Lucid Motors says it will accelerate from zero-to-60 mph in just 1.89 seconds and achieve a top speed of 205 mph. At the same time, it has a range of 427 miles on a single charge. The new Lucid Air Pure Rear-Wheel Drive occupies the other end of the lineup with a starting price of $77,400. It offers 410 miles of range, and the carmaker says its 900-volt architecture and fast-charging capabilities allow it to add up to 200 miles of range from 12 minutes to 17 minutes with DC fast charging, depending on the trim.
