American electric-vehicle (EV) manufacturer Lucid only sells one model—the Air sedan. The start-up automaker also doesn't designate model years, but it did introduce some new features and trims in late 2022. Via over-the-air (OTA) software update, the automaker rolled out Lucid UX 2.0 to Airs already in customers' hands. From now on, all new Airs will have the updated software.

In November 2022, Lucid began production of the Pure and Touring trim levels of the Air. The automaker had already announced these lower-cost versions of its sedan, but it had planned production after delivering the launch version—the Dream Edition. The Air lineup now includes the Sapphire, Grand Touring, Touring, and Pure trims, though the $249,000 Sapphire will not be available until sometime during the first half of 2023.
The Air Pure is the new lowest-cost way to buy a Lucid EV. Starting at $87,400, the rear-wheel-drive Pure features standard 19-inch wheels and has a projected range of 410 miles on a full charge. Buyers can get all other Air trims with the Glass Canopy roof, but the Pure comes only with a metal roof. All-wheel drive (AWD) and 20-inch wheels are optional, and the former brings with it a power output of 480 horsepower and the ability to fast-charge at up to 250 kW.
The Air Touring starts at $107,400 and offers 620 hp and a 425-mile projected range. Possessing dual motors and AWD like the rest of the non-Pure Air lineup, the Touring comes with standard 20-inch wheels; 19- and 21-inch wheels are options. You need the 19-inch wheels for the Touring to achieve its full mileage estimate. The Touring can also fast-charge at up to 250 kW.
All Lucid Air cars, sold and unsold, can now get Lucid UX 2.0 at no charge. The automaker launched the OTA update—its most extensive to date—in October 2022. The new software changed the look of the displays, the voice assistant's capabilities, and the way the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) operate, among hundreds of other updates and new features.
The most noticeable change with UX 2.0 is a shorter start-up time for the driver information and infotainment screens. Lucid also re-arranged commonly used control buttons on the home screen and gave the built-in Amazon Alexa voice controller more things to do, like adjusting the heating and cooling settings for the rear seat.
Updates to the ADAS components include a new Highway Assist mode that combines active lane centering and adaptive cruise control. Lucid says it also improved the Air's rear pedestrian collision protection system and the park distance warning feature. A new de-ice mode also turns on the windshield defroster and can automatically move the wiper blades and dispense wiper fluid. Lucid also improved the Air's intelligent headlights with a new automatic leveling feature and the ability to sense light sources other than oncoming headlights for auto-dimming purposes.
